Grassley setting President Trump straight:

Grassley schools Trump on wind turbines and cancer

By Burgess Everett 11 mins ago

Count Chuck Grassley as among those displeased by President Donald Trump's attacks on wind energy.

The longtime Iowa GOP senator told Iowa reporters on Wednesday afternoon that Trump's comments implying turbines cause cancer was "idiotic." Then he explained to Capitol Hill reporters that the president needs to stop railing against wind power.
"Pretty simple. I wish his staff would tell him I'm the father and now the grandfather of wind energy tax credits. I don't think he knows it, or I don't think he'd make those comments that aren't quite appropriate," Grassley said.

He said Trump's cancer comments were probably "tongue in cheek" and chalked up his divide with the president on generational differences and that Grassley was more experienced with the energy crisis of the 1970s.
Trump said at a fundraiser on Tuesday night that "if you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations. Your house just went down 75 percent in value. He added: "They say the noise causes cancer. You tell me that one, okay?"

The conservative Grassley said that he has to teach a lot of new politicians about wind energy and Trump is no different. And as far the cancer claim, which has no factual basis, Grassley called it "tongue in cheek."

Seems on the issue of Wind Turbines, Grassley should go back to school.

I wonder if any here have actually seen a "wind farm".  When we go to a certain casino that takes us across a road in extreme north Texas, there is a wind farm.  It goes on for many miles, huge "windmills" mile after mile.  You begin to think it will never stop because it is so many miles with the huge windmills turning.  THERE IS NO SOUND FROM THESE WINDMILLS, NONE.

That area of Texas is a windy area.  I know when we go to that casino, to take a scarf and put it on before I get out of car, as the wind hits me and my hair is not short, so my hair flies every which way.  At times, the wind is so strong, I have to hold onto the car door so it does not swing back and slam against the car.  When the wind is like that, he lets me out at the casino door, then goes to park the car.  I would have to fight my way across the parking lot, trying to stay upright.  Even close to the casino door, I still have to walk to the door and it is hard to stay on my feet to get inside.  I weigh 130 lbs. (yes, I need to lose 10 but that is another story).  One hundred thirty pounds is not enough to be able to walk a straight line in that kind of wind.  When the wind is that strong, a large man opens the casino door to control it, so it will not slam back.  Now, you know about the windy part of Texas and those huge wings on the windmills, do not make noise.

We have them in Eastern Washington also.  I think renewable energy is great.  For people in areas where they can get the full benefit of Solar too I say good for them!  Hydro power too.  There are a whole lot of folks who would not be able to live off the grid without these renewable energy options.  People on the grid are now selling energy back to the power companies.  Its a way to be self sufficient.  Is that really what the Republican party is about?  Controlling people and forcing people to accept slavery to energy corporations?  Same old thing from Republicans.  Its total control of the population according to their political allies and lobbyists.  They do the same thing with health care.  Both sides actually.  God forbid if a person chose to rely on natural health instead of the FDA regulated poisons they want you to take.

If it is good, quit subsidizing it--any of it, level the playing field and let the market decide.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
