House Democrats set to vote Wednesday for subpoena of Mueller report

House Democrats, eager to see the full report issued by special counsel Robert Mueller about Russian interference in the 2016 presidential race, plan to subpoena the document on Wednesday.

Judiciary Committee Democrats announced plans for the move on Monday. Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., said in a statement the vote would take place on Wednesday — a day after the majority party's deadline for Attorney General William Barr to turn over to Congress the complete, unredacted, report.

Barr has pledged to turn over an edited version of the report by mid-April, leaving lawmakers and the Justice Department at a standoff over the 400-page document's immediate fate.

Barr insists the report must be scrubbed of intelligence data, grand jury testimony and other sensitive information. Democrats say it's imperative they read the entire report to see if, as Barr suggested eight days ago in a four-page memo, it doesn't contain evidence of a criminal conspiracy between President Trump and Russian agents, or anything else that could be prosecutable.
