Rolling Stones postpone tour as Jagger receives medical treatment
Quote
NEW YORK — The Rolling Stones are postponing their latest tour so Mick Jagger can receive medical treatment.

The band announced Saturday that Jagger was told by doctors “he cannot go on tour at this time.” The band added that Jagger “is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.”

No more details about 75-year-old Jagger’s condition were provided.

Well, no one can go on tour...or live forever.  Unless it's Keith.

I do wonder what is wrong with him. Maybe something  minor like hip surgery?

At 75, I wonder if the little blue pill still works for him.    LOL

I wonder sometimes if they do some things for show... I get it that a 75 year old man smokes and Keith has smoked all these years... but still.... anyway... an update:

"JUST IN: Roling Stones singer Mick Jagger to undergo heart valve surgery."

I noticed he’s flying to New York for the heart valve surgery.  You don’t see him rushing back to England for those great National Health Service doctors, do you?

I wish him the best.  I love this Waylon cover by the Stones.

There are some photos of him online with his family vacationing in Miami, so I figured if Mick was getting medical care, it had to be in the US.  If he was in the  UK, he might be put on a waiting list or told he's too old for surgery -- unless he can bypass the English health system  with his money and prestige.

But I'm not going to tout our far better health care now because we may not have it for long.  There are people in DC -- Republican and Democrat -- who can't wait to make our health care system the same piece of [expletive] as it is in the UK and all the other countries with government-run health care.

...

I didn't realize that he did this song.  I have the Waylon Jennings version, but this is quite good.

Not to be morbid, this is one of my favorite Stones songs.

My wife and I bought tickiets to see them in Houston April 28th.
She had seen them 45 years ago when she was 15.
I never have.
I was afraid that if I didn't go this time, I may never get the chance.
Still hoping.
They say they will re-schedule for this summer.
We will see.

And, yes, @LadyLiberty Bob Wills is still the king.

Thanks for noting this. The procedure is said to have 95 percent success.

I liked their music right before everything got freaky.

A period that also produced 'Ruby Tuesday' and 'Paint It Black'.  Some of this is what they call Baroque Pop.

And Johnny Winter doing 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', Leon Russel also did a good version.  I think Johnny Winter owned it as well His first album was suppose to have been of interest to some of the Rolling Stones.

Exile and all those, are real good. I don't deny it but I do like their earlier music better.

I do hope you and the missus get to see the Stones play.   I make fun of the Stones, particularly Keith, but I saw them perform a few years ago and they were surprisingly good.  I don't know of too many of today's artists who will be that good in their 70s.

I've seen them twice live, both in Washington, DC.    They're still the World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band (in no small part because they're propelled by a drummer with the heart of a jazzman).

I wish Mick well for a full and speedy recovery.   May he be dancing with inflatable penises again by summer's end!

Many Brits, like my in-laws, also have private health insurance.....just in case. But for a country that exudes great pride in its NHS it is somewhat  humorous that Jagger goes to the U.S. for his surgery.

The UK also have private (non-NHS) hospitals that have great reputations.
