No, May was going to resign if they passed this plan.  She was willing to leave to get this passed. They didn't.  Now there are two choices.  Leave the EU with no plan which will be chaotic, or ask for another extension as this extension lasts another two weeks.

Brexit preceeded Trump's election.

Taken toether, they are rejections of "Business as Usual," for entrenched estaablishment elements of national, political life.

Britons fed up with regulations from Brussels by UNELECTED bureaucrats.

In several other countries in Europe, leaving the EU is a topic under discussion.
