Joker in the pack: A comedian could be about to win Ukraine’s presidential election

Ukraine’s presidential election is to be held this weekend and an actor and comedian who played the country’s leader in a hit TV show is in with a good chance of winning, according to experts.

Volodymyr Zelensky leads public opinion polls in Ukraine ahead of the first round of voting on Sunday March 31.

He’s ahead of rivals Yulia Tymoshenko and incumbent Petro Poroshenko in what has become a three-way race.

He's a comedian, he has a real chance to win this.  Again, this appears to be round one of the voting, coming up this weekend.

This is bound to be reflective of the results of the Ukraine election today that will see a run-off, assuming no one gets 50% or more.

The comedian wins this first general election but only with around 30%....the candidates dig deeper in running against each other, I think it was reported that the comedian had an Italian Villa that was not declared as an asset.

Report: Ukrainian Presidential Front-Runner Failed To Declare 15-Room Italian Villa

KYIV -- Ukrainian journalists report that comedian Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a political novice whose TV image as an everyman has him leading all polls going into this weekend's presidential election, has a 15-room villa in Italy that he failed to disclose in his public asset declaration.

Kyiv-based Slidtsvo.Info reported on March 28 -- just four days before Ukraine's presidential election -- that the 41-year-old Zelenskyy paid an Italian company 3.8 million euros ($4.3 million) in 2017 for the luxurious home, which sits roughly 600 meters from the beach in Forte dei Marmi.

In a post on Instagram, Zelenskyy's campaign called the report "fake" and an attempt to "discredit" the candidate days before the election.

So, they claim 'fake news'.

In other election news, Erdogan's party seems to be doing well enough in the local elections, cities, in Turkey. Turkey is not a free country. Who knows if those polls are accurate.  In fact, they probably are not.... I just fund a story I will post in its own thread.
