New Zealand to observe Muslim call to prayer on Friday

People across New Zealand will hear the Muslim call to prayer at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, a week after 50 people were killed in a pair of mosque shootings, according to The Associated Press.
The prayer will be followed by two minutes of silence, according to the AP.
Thousands of people, including Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will reportedly gather in a park near the Al Noor mosque where at least 42 people were killed. Local media will reportedly broadcast the event.
The suspected shooter, who has been arrested, reportedly posted a white supremacist and Islamophobic manifesto before allegedly massacring the worshippers in Christchurch, New Zealand.
New Zealand has banned semi-automatic weapons and assault rifles in response to the attack.
