Report: Hannity telling friends he plans to leave Fox News after his contract is up

Allahpundit Posted at 6:01 pm on March 20, 2019

Just a little light gossip from Gabriel Sherman, although the timing makes sense to me. It’d be to Hannity’s advantage to start circulating rumors of his unhappiness too, even if they’re insincere, as it might give him more leverage over the direction of the network.

Fox journalists, bristling at being branded an arm of the Trump White House, are lobbying Fox News C.E.O. Suzanne Scott and President Jay Wallace to rein in Fox & Friends, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs and Pirro. “Reporters are telling management that we’re being defined by the worst people on our air,” a frustrated senior Fox staffer told me. Fox’s opinion hosts, meanwhile, have made the case that Fox’s prime-time lineup not only reflects the audience’s worldview, but is responsible for the majority of the network’s advertising revenue. “We make the money,” an anchor close to Hannity told me…

Another vector influencing the Trump-Fox relationship is Hannity’s frustration with the Murdochs. Sources said Hannity is angry at the Murdochs’ firing of Ailes and Bill Shine, Hannity’s close friend and former producer. Hannity believes the Murdochs are out to get Trump. “Hannity told Trump last year that the Murdochs hate Trump, and Hannity is the only one holding Fox together,” a source who heard the conversation told me. Hannity has told friends that he intends to leave Fox when his contract expires in early 2021, two people who’ve spoken with him said. (Hannity did not respond to a request for comment.)

He's impossible to listen to on the radio, so I've never even attempted watching his TV program.

The only Fox host I watch is Tucker Carlsen, and that's mainly because he's on when I'm at the gym.    I get my news and opinion from the printed word.   First and foremost, each and every day,  the Wall Street Journal.

He's worse on TV, because he waves his hands around as much as Beta Boy O'Reilly.  It was funny watching Hannity make fun of Beta Boy.

I say good riddance.  I'd like to see somebody who is actually capable of interviews in that time slot.  Seany boy has always been terrible at it.  Has no understanding of the concept of "follow-up questions."  It's frustrating at how that leads him to permitting talking point answers from leftists.

AFter hearing Limbaugh and Hannity both preach of the importance of supporting and electing principled conservatives for 25 years, they wonder why their viewership and listenership has fractured.  Without these two turds, Trump would have never happened.

Hannity will probably start working for the Administration, I'd bet.

FOX, as well as the rest of the ms, has never been anything but a
platform for peddlers of various gadgets as well as assorted legal hustlers.
All these yappers are beyond brainless and add nothing to public awareness.
Reading is a catalyst for reflection; the beginnings of learning while
tee-vee subtracts from this process.

If anybody thought FNC was anything more than a soap-seller, they don't know how TeeBee works.  They were never meant to be a "conservative movement" voice...their goal was to find a hole in the market and exploit it, just like any other business.  That hole happened to be the voices missing from CNN and PMSNBC.

Trump won primarily as a reaction against Hillary.    I think I read somewhere that even about 20% of Sanders voters chose Trump in the general election.   Clinton was just that awful.

I think it is likely that just about any of the GOP candidates for President could have won the general election against Hillary Clinton.

He can hang out with OReilly and the other pervert, Bolling,  who sent pictures of their privates to their co workers.
They all deserve each other.  Bolling is such a favorite he gets personal interviews with Melania.

Yep.  Limbaugh openly mocked a caller who asked him about Trump’s previous issues.  That was the last day I ever listened to the gasbag.  My husband did the same soon after...said he couldn’t take the same  long-winded “people don’t understand Trump, let me explain him” screed over & over.  He turned me on to Dana Loesch.  She’s even more informative than Rush IMO.  And she isn’t stale and corny.

As for Hannity, remember the time he absolutely ripped into Ted Cruz on air?

Easy.  Two of the biggest voices of conservatism were telling conservatives  it was okay  to vote (support) a non-conservative candidate.  If Rush especially had early on told his massive listenership that Trump was the wolf and sheep clothing that he was.......  He'd never have even gotten close to securing the nomination.

You know Cat....   I don't have any proof of shenangans of what Trump had to do or pay to get these two to get on board, but I am highly suspicious.

Yep, Hannity did go after Cruz on the air one day.
Hannity went full blown Trump.
Wasn't so objective, was he?

Rush tried to play coy, as if he hadn't made a choice, but it wasn't really working.
A caller would call in and say "Hey, did you heard what Trump just said?" and Rush would laugh it off, saying"HeHe yeah, man, oh boy, you just don't know what he'll do next! HaHaHa".
Had anyone else said some of those same things Trump did during the race, during the primaries, Rush would have had a parody song about it the next day on his show.
He'd done it before.
Remember how he did that with Perot?

I remember that interview Hannity had with Cruz. Cruz has twice the IQ of Hannity, and Hannity proved it by not seeming to understand that a good chunk of the republican base, which his guy needed (not mentioning Hannity's own audience), were strongly supportive of Cruz.

I'm a little more forgiving of Rush - he always spoke respectfully of Cruz.

Gee-Zeus!

There's not a speck of difference between Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump.

1980 America is culturally dead.  An abstract memory to many.  And zero memory to, too many.

Pres. Reagan was a movie star celebrity active in film unions and California politics.

Pres. Trump was a TV star celebrity active in world development and solving problems.

Like it or not, the playing field today is not the same as it was in 1980.

Somebody 50 today, remembers gas lines and odd/even days.

But too many people ...voters today, haven't had any experience, nor education in terms of history as to what happened and why.

Thank God we have a fighter in President Trump.   Seriously, as a heart-attack.
"It aint what you don't know that kills you.  It's what you know that aint so!" ...Theodore Sturgeon

"Journalism is about covering the news.  With a pillow.  Until it stops moving."    - David Burge (Iowahawk)

Anything is possible.  Look at Jerry Falwell, Jr---soon after he endorsed Trump, he dropped $33 million to buy a mall.

I used to email with a guy who got kicked off TOS, a political writer---you'd know him.  He knew Rush, and he said it was typical behavior for him.  Said he was still the fat kid in awe of the cool crowd, and that's how he saw Trump and his rich golfing buddies.

As for Hannity, he's been advising Trump all along.  Maybe now he can get paid (openly)?   :pondering:

Lol, it's true.  I remember Hannity's "I'm sick of it!"  He completely lost his cool and betrayed his emotion.

Yeah, Rush was respectful, I have to admit that.  But the more his Trump fascination grew, the more he couldn't see past it.
