Turkish 'terror' suspect is ARRESTED after 'shooting a relative on Dutch tram "for family reasons" and then firing at anyone who tried to intervene' killing three

Police release photo of Gökmen Tanis, 37, captured on the tram's CCTV just minutes before the shooting

Three people have died and five people are injured after the shooting in Utrecht, central Netherlands

Police said the gunman 'who may have had a terrorist motive', opened fire on a tram in the city centre

The assailant or assailants fled the scene but police have since arrested a suspect

Tanis family members in Turkey say the person targeted on the tram was a relative of the 37-year-old

Dutch government has raised terrorism threat level to highest possible, and schools are on lockdown

Incident took place just three days after a terror attack on two mosques in New Zealand where 50 were killed

That's a relief!  It wasn't the usual islamic terrorism, it was just a family shooting.

Dutch Prosecutors: No Link Between Suspect, Victims in Utrecht Shooting
By Reuters

    March 19, 2019

AMSTERDAM — Dutch prosecutors on Tuesday said they have so far been unable to find any link between a man suspected of shooting three people dead in Utrecht and the victims.

There appears to be no link between the victims and the shooter.

The Latest: Wilders urges justice minister to resign

    Mar 19, 2019 Updated 29 min ago

Dutch politician Geert Wilders has demanded that Justice Minister Ferd Grapperhaus resign after it became apparent that the main suspect in the Utrecht tram shooting had been released recently from prison after pledging to cooperate with authorities.

Wilders, the anti-Islam head of the Party for Freedom, said after a ceremonial session to mourn the three people killed on Monday that Grapperhaus was responsible for the suspect being able to roam the streets.

"You are politically responsible for this," Wilders said in the Dutch parliament in The Hague. "You have to resign, get out of here."

It's back to looking like terrorism though, they have not said anything concrete on this. The last article might be worth reading more in depth, the guy was accused of rape (doesn't say found guilty of) and also sentenced for other criminal acts.

Who said it was over family reasons?

The shooter himself?  Someone in the government? It sounds like it was a statement irresponsibly made.

Now, I see, two sources say that RTL, Dutch media say his note does say
