In a universe of parallel political parties RNC Jeb Bush is mirror image of DNC Beto O’Rourke.

    “I think someone should run. Just because Republicans ought to be given a choice,” said Bush, who also served as the governor of Florida, in an interview with David Axelrod that will air Saturday on “The Axe Files.” He added that beating Trump in 2020 will be difficult for anyone because “he has a strong, loyal base” and “it’s hard to beat a sitting president.”

It shouldn't be Jeb, but someone should run. Kudos to Jeb for stating what many feel. 

The tone to be taken by a challenger is critical.  The message should be simply stated -  we can best keep the prosperity by losing the chaos.

Granted Trump's administration has been a bumpy ride. Alot of unforced errors, some mistakes, etc. But IMO its overall effect has been a vast improvement over the last administration. Overall policy wise things are trending in the right direction.

Anyone who calls for a primary challenge obviously disagrees. What they want and what I want are two different things.

So my reaction to Yeb's call, as selfish as it may be, is go p*ss up a rope.

No!  You don't get it!   I like most of Trump's policies that have brought jobs and prosperity.   I want to just lose the chaos so I can keep the prosperity.  I bear no ill will toward Donald Trump,  but the dynamic of history is using him in a dangerous way.

On a fundamental level,  we should not want the same thing the Democrats want.   The Democrats want Trump to be our nominee.  Think about it.

Really. Common sense would dictate that the 'rats want a GOP primary challenge. So, in effect, Jeb is calling for EXACTLY what the rats want.

I understand where you're coming from...but that is the political equivalent of dividing your forces in the face of a powerful frontal attack. Its a formula for defeat and disaster. Further, which POLICIES that Trump is advocating for...would a primary challenger seek to overturn? A border structure? Stronger national defense? A less adventurous foreign military posture?

I just don't see any major policy conflicts on which a primary challenger could run on...I just don't see a major policy conflict on which the President could be primaried...but by all means, I'd like to hear what issues you think are worth dividing the party over.
