“I’m running to serve you as president of the United States of America,” were the words that cemented Beto O’Rourke’s bid for president as he spoke to national press and Iowans early Thursday morning in Keokuk.

A crowd crammed into the Lost Canvas on Main Street to see the Texan who for three terms has represented his El Paso, Texas, district in the U.S. House of Representatives and who, in the early morning hours, released a video stating that he had thrown his hat in the ring....
