Students Now Suing Schools for Fraud After College Admissions Scandal Erupts

Warner Todd Huston March 14, 2019 300 Views

In what is sure to be only the first of many to come, a group of students from Stanford have filed a lawsuit against the colleges caught up in the recently unveiled college admissions scandal.

This only makes sense. After all, if you were a regular student who did not have a super rich, famous parent to bribe your way into your choice of schools, doesn’t that mean you could have been aced out of your choice of schools because you weren’t bribing your way in?

That is exactly the problem, here. This bribery scandal has devalued every college degree out there.

Last sentence says everything about modern attitudes concerning credentials/ degrees.
Plato, Euclid, Cicero, Michelangelo, Copernicus, Shakespeare, Galileo and Mozart
to name just a few, were geniuses; all of whom were self-taught.
Just reflect how deprived these poor souls were w/o college degrees? Oh the Shame!

Actually, the colleges and universities have already done that.  They no longer teach; they  indoctrinate.  So you get a degree in, say, engineering.  You can recite all the talking points about so-called "climate change" but you don't know how to operate a slide rule.

A college degree today is practicially worthless.  Might as well forget about college and learn a trade.

I heard on LA radio (AM 640-KFI) mention of 750  students, over many years and involving football star Joe Montana.

My wife asked "what about all of the better scholars, and better athletes that were displaced to mak room for the cheaters?

Class action law firms will likely live out their days very rich, when this is finished.

There will likely be $multi-million payouts, from the colleges, to hundreds of student-applicants.

Watch alumni money dry up.

USC already has one or more bigg problems, with an MD-dept head-fundraiser. Doing meth with a young hooker.

Our older degrees are still worth something.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.

Yep! Especially with 40 years experience in the field.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Good. Let 'em burn. Higher education is all but a scam right now.

Agreed.  But not the ones being issued today for the most part.
