Yes, he tried multiple times, through what he thought was a secure app, to contact people in the Hapsburg Group. It was an attempt to inform them about what he'd already said, so they wouldn't contradict him. Basically, that's witness coaching and tampering. If you think that's a joke, remember that, the next time you're on a thread about Cohen and Schiff meeting before his testimony. It's the same thing.

Same except for the jail time. Which is my point.

The man is going to die in prison, for the political crime of providing assistance to the hated Donald Trump.

Of being on the wrong side (wrong place in history) in the attempted coup d'état against all things Trump.

Direct evidence was provided by a witness, in Manafort's case - hence the revocation of bail and jail time. If someone has that with Schiff and Cohen, they should produce it.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

No, he's going to prison, because he was known to be pulling shady deals in Ukraine back in 2014, ran out of money he stole from a Russian oligarch, then resumed doing illegal activities during his time with the campaign to get back into the washable money flow. His allegiances were clearly elsewhere.

Yes, but the reason he was prosecuted for those activities was his service to then-candidate Trump.   His convictions were based on criminal acts prosecuted solely because of his political acts.

Selective prosecution is, of course, a necessary evil because prosecutorial resources are limited,  but to so blatantly do so on the basis of politics strikes me as reprehensible.   The man has effectively been sentenced to death because he chose to serve Donald Trump.

And now Manafort is being indicted in Manhattan over a shady mortgage deal.

The guy is going to prison, not because he's an ally of Trump, but because he's dirty.

The resources are the reason why he wasn't prosecuted in 2014. They wanted him, to go after the larger target, Yanukovych. So, instead of learning his lesson, after a close call with the FBI, he goes back to his fraud committing, money laundering ways for someone else. He played right into the candidate's vanity by offering to work for free. That should have been a huge red flag. Great due diligence by the campaign. None of them deserve sympathy.

You don’t owe me anything, edpc, but I’d sure feel better if I saw a rock ribbed law & order throw the book at em guy like you kicking ass over on the threads relating to all the felonious behavior by Lynch, Brennan, McCabe et al.

Whataboutism doesn't clear Manafort. This admin has been free to launch investigations into those other matters at any time, so we have some news threads about that. They've only had three Attorneys General to do it. What's the hold up? What's prevented Berman from indicting Craig and Podesta for almost a year?
