The Pentagon’s Plan: Use Drones to Feed Hurricane Victims

Could this work?
by Michael Peck

The next time a hurricane strikes Florida or Texas, relief may come from robots in the sky.

The Pentagon wants drones to transport supplies for disaster relief. And not for overseas disasters, but when bad things happen on American soil.

The Defense Logistics Agency recently put out a Request for Information on the feasibility of using drones “to provide disaster relief support on the East and Gulf Coasts of the United States.”

What a load of nothing.  They going to deliver half a dozen power bars?

Real help looks like:

Gotta work better than dropping pallets on their heads.

As someone who had to ride out Rita, take on $100K of damage, and be without power a month......

The last thing I want to see is a drone hovering and snooping around my abode
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

When I read about drones hovering over homes, I can only think of one word:

"Pull!"

Worked for the Berlin Airlift.   With proper planning this may be a solution for getting relief to victims in areas that cannot be traversed from the outside.

I wouldn't think there's a lot of nutritional value in a drone.
My avatar shows the national debt in stacks of $100 bills.  If you look very closely under the crane you can see the Statue of Liberty.

Don't confuse cargo aircraft traveling airport to airport with little drones trying for find stranded individuals.
