29 injured after turbulence on flight from Istanbul to New York
The injured sustained mostly bumps and bruises, officials said.

NEW YORK - At least 29 people were treated for minor injuries after encountering turbulence Saturday on a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to New York, authorities said.

New York Fire Department spokesman Michael Parrella said the travelers had been treated at John F. Kennedy International Airport. The number of injured was downgraded from a previous estimate of 32.

The injuries were mostly bumps and bruises, officials said.

Well, good that none of the injuries sound serious. I thought there was another recent flight with heavy turbulence as well that was in the news.

I was on a flight leaving Chicago when the plane hit turbulence.  No one was hurt, but I was scared and there aren't many things that scare me.  This is why airlines insist passengers wear their seat belts throughout the flight.

Thank God no one was seriously injured on this flight.
