After voting in favor of the general anti-hate resolution that was sparked by what many saw as her anti-Semitic comments and tweets, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) unleashed new criticism and praise after retweeting a tweet that described The View’s co-host Meghan McCain’s take on the controversy as “faux outrage.”

The tweet also pointed to the late Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) past remarks:



“[Omar] retweeting trash like this is beneath a sitting member of Congress, as is her blatantly anti-Semitic rhetoric,” McCain tweeted Friday morning:
