Prosecution had recommended 19-24 years.

After this one, now he gets more prison time in the other Mueller case.
Plus, just heard this one has a 25 million dollar fine.

Berman will likely stick with the guidelines of the charges. Manafort really screwed himself in that case, by blowing up the cooperation agreement. Between that and the leniency shown by Ellis, it’s more likely the Berman sentence will be consecutive, instead of concurrent.

Today Manafort.   Tomorrow it could be you or I.

Go figger.

Or Hillary Clinton,  Debbie Wasserman Shultz,  William Jefferson Clinton,  James Comey. ..  all of whom have committed crimes that make what Manafort did look totally insignificant by comparison.

You can always ask Geoffrey Berman. He’s the US Attorney, appointed by Trump, overseeing SDNY. The case was referred to his office, by Mueller (along with Obama WH counsel Greg Craig) last July. There’s no cause for him to recuse. What’s the holdup?

I’m not committing bank and tax fraud. He’s basically getting a little more time than Cohen for more of the same things. Who feels sorry for him? I don’t.

You don't need to be.  All you need to do is get a little to prominent in circles they don't appreciate or go to work for someone they think is a threat to them and they will do the rest.  Maybe not in the courts but they have plenty of other tools. Like the IRS for one example.

Judge Ellis rebuked Special Counsel Mueller when sentencing Paul Manafort
https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2019/03/judge_ellis_rebuked_special_counsel_meuller_when_sentencing_paul_manafort.html

Judge Ellis seems to have his head screwed on very straight.

Actually, he’s been very erratic, during the different phases of the trial. After accusing the prosecution of using charges unrelated to collision as leverage, he demanded to see the unredacted information. Once he saw that, his 31 page ruling stated the prosecution had ‘followed the money’ to the Ukrainian-Russian ties, related to his illegal activity. Then, he berated the prosecution, during the trial, and later apologized for his conduct. During the trial and sentencing, he specifically forbade the mention of Manafort’s connections to foreign contacts potentially involved with election interference. Thanks to the ineptitude of Manafort’s defense counsel, we know the charges are related to election interference. They poorly redacted their filing in the DC district case, which showed his continuing contacts with Kilimnik, during his trial period. That’s one of the reasons his plea agreement was nullified.
