And how is this better than DuckDuckGo, which many of us have been using happily for quite a while?

My first impression/search results were pretty underwhelming...for example "Amtrak & Oregon" revealed NO news results on the topic. Am sticking with "Duck Duck Go".  I need the widest possible search (w/o spying...not necessarily "fair & balanced" results.

I had a similar experience.  I entered "Ramos" and "Venezuela" and after a long wait I got "No Results" on one of the biggest stories of that day.  I use StartPage HTTPS as my default engine, and I'm not changing my default, not that I could make Sprackle default of I wanted to...it's not on the list of 350 engines Firefox recognizes, that I could find.
