Perhaps he got a call from the 'Evangelicals' between the time this was first floated and his 'not aware' statement.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

I have nothing against this but liberals will not give him any respect/credit for this.

Nope. In fact I already read one article describing it as a "Racist Trick",  only intended to go after Muslims, by using gays.

Maybe he's doing it because it's the right thing to do.  I know that's a foreign concept to some here.

They'll criticize this guy for anything.

Good point, @Weird Tolkienish Figure  and it's something that's been worrying me about the recent tone on this site.

I was accused of being a Brown-shirt by one poster here and I wasn't that happy about it, but I have thought of Hitler lately, especially his rise to power. Hitler created an enemy, (the Jews) and fanned the flames of the hatred he engendered until it changed German society.

I see the same effort among the media and the democrats ... using Trump as the enemy.  Now, Trump has done nothing, nothing, to deserve to be seen as an enemy but that doesn't matter.

What scares me is that I see it here on this forum.  There is a very real enemy to our country and it's powerful.  We should be using every bit of our thoughts and influence against that enemy.

Instead, we are wasting our energy in petty little grudge battles against Trump and against Trump supporters.  This has been bothering me for a while, and especially lately.

There are some threads I cannot even go on because they reek with hate ... and not hate against our real enemies but against a good President that some people have personal grievances against ... and not for anything substantive.

I only thank God that people on this forum who are engaged in this behavior have no real influence out in society and are, in fact, a small minority, but it still makes me sick.

I also know that there are people here ready to pounce on this and to go on and on about how we have a right to criticize our President if we don't like him.  Not just a right, but a duty, and one that gives us a warm virtuous feeling.

I certainly don't deny that, but when most threads here disintegrate into nastiness and Trump bashing, what are we accomplishing that's good for the country?

Especially since very few of them contain any actual wrongs that Trump has done and are mostly personality related.

If that's what y'all want to do, that's what you will do, but count me out of it.

I understand why some republicans and conservatives didn’t vote for Donald Trump in the primary. I know many are upset that he was elected president. I can even understand (partly) why some left their ballot blank or voted 3rd party.

But, for heaven’s sake the time for upset was two years ago. Now it’s time to put aside animosity and move on. Everyone’s support will be needed to stop the encroaching normalization of infanticide and socialism and cultural Marxism from winning in America.

But Trump is fighting those abominations. So now is the time for all of us to throw our support behind the president, not nitpicking on cues from the lying media and establishment bureaucrats.

@Emjay, for the love of God, your posts consist solely of complaints about who doesn’t like you, who’s mean to you, passive-aggressive nudges about “some people here”, and how rotten the forum is.  Can you PLEASE give it a damn break?

What’s your definition of support?

I've posted very seldom lately for precisely the reasons I've outlined.  It's become a playground for Trump haters and very little of value is being discussed.

As for you @QueenCatofAragon  Queenie, you have absolutely no reason to criticize anyone and if you drag out that passive aggressive thing you love to rely on many more times ... maybe you should give that a damn break.

Plus, I have not criticized you or posted to you so why don't you give it up.  You have been obsessed with me for a while and don't even try to deny that.  Leave me alone and I'll leave you alone.

Deal??

I hold no animosity towards this president because he won the GOP nomination. Especially since it meant that Hillary was defeated and his display of patriotism at his pre-inaugural even brought tears of joy.  I commend him.  I commend him on the economy.  I commend him on Israel.  I commend him on N. Korea.  I commend him on several issues. My disappointment is how he is currently handling the situation of a wall at the border.  He signed a terrible, disastrous bills that allows liberal officials to opt out of a barrier, which really makes bits and pieces of the wall futile.  My disappointment is he didn't make the push for the wall when he had a full majority.   Declaring a national emergency now, after the fact is questionable.  So no, I cannot support him on this issue.  I cannot support his appointment of Rosenstein and the DOJ; those actions are questionable.

To say he is fighting socialism and Marxism when he just signed a bill that could very easily destroy our Republic I disagree with.

I will support this President when I feel it is right to do so and yes, I recognize the obstruction from the left.  Unfortunately, some of the obstruction he has given in to and he is/was standing between losing our country as we know her or keeping her.  I will ALWAYS stand with someone who is leading this country in a positive direction.  I cannot and will not stand with someone who is taking this country down a slippery slope.

@DCPatriot for quite a while most in here showed some respect and civility towards one another and those who can't do that should find the exit door.

Well when talking of the Middle East where women aren't allowed to talk to men.  Girls can't get schooling.  Men are throwing acid on women and disfiguring them I think this is very low on the totem pole.  How about basic human rights for all people.  Unless we just have a homosexual agenda.

It's called pandering. Trump needs to do it too if he wants to win.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies.
