Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

The scene from the "Blues Brothers" (my all time favorite movie)  -- Four Fried Chickens and a Coke ... and dry white toast

You know, one scene from 'American Sniper', hardly seems right and doesn't sum up the movie... but this past week, a lot of people on the radio at least, seemed to mention how this past February 2nd, 2020 marked seven years since Chris Kyle died....

Good movie and I believe it is currently, in the Walmart $5 movie bin.

A few months ago, I saw "Hyena Road" which someone said was a Canadian 'American Sniper', maybe a bit.  Not nearly as bloody, not on the same level as the above movie which was directed by Clint Eastwood in addition I believe but "Hyena Road" I still found to be pretty good actually. It's not "Saving Private Ryan' but it was entertaining.

The director who is one of the actors too, goes a bit overboard in the uncouth department and cussword dept. but it is what it is.

@Sighlass

I will just add on, you posted your top movies, I think that was good and I think could be stickied or just repost it again. I thought it was real entertaining and have even looked to read it again.

I think that was your list. Very thought provoking.

Well, if I can add a movie scene without having a scene from the "Jerk" placed right after it, coincidence I am sure, even the same day and hours after.  See preceding pages.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

Gary Oldman is the greatest actor of all time.

(Trivia: Without looking it up, what role did Val Kilmer play in that movie?)

Elvis Presley...but you never actually see a face.

Going over this thread...there are some great scenes of great movies.

Hey, that's a tv show, not a movie.  Doesn't count.

Seriously, I was too scared as a kid to watch the Twilight Zone, but my brother loved it.  Wasn't till years later that I started watching and began appreciating Rod Serling's genius.  He was way ahead of his time.

The best episode IMHO is Twenty-Two with a creepy Arlene Martel uttering the line, "Room for One More Honey."  That episode scared the pants off me.
