An active shooter situation is underway in Aurora, Illinois, officials said Friday.

Aurora police confirmed to Fox News that there is an active shooter “on the west side” of Aurora.

The situation, which was verified by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, unfolded at Henry Pratt Company, WLS-TV reported. The business is a manufacturing company, according to WMAQ-TV.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether anyone was injured.

The Chicago branch of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) tweeted that they were “responding to a reported active shooter situation at a manufacturing company in Aurora, Ill.”

**UPDATE: Aurora Police -- "Active Shooter Incident has been secured. Shooter is no longer a threat to the area. Continued police presence will remain as investigation continues. Parents please contact your local school districts for dismissal plan." @OANN

Sad, I'm sorry to hear this, this is the first time, I heard a death toll mentioned but it sounds like there was a lot of shootings. I'll remember the victims in my thoughts and prayers.

The bodies aren't even cold yet and already the gun grabbers want to outlaw the laser feature (and of course, eventually, all firearms).

The law applies penalties to government agencies for not reporting to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

And this why all the extensive background checks, all the laws in the world won't prevent someone with a gripe from getting a hold of a firearm. 

Gun control, gun confiscation don't work.  All they do is prevent law abiding citizens from protecting themselves.
