Meredith Koop, the stylist behind Michelle Obama‘s flawless wardrobe[ :silly:], has a bone to pick with the fashion industry.

“I’m a white woman. I interact with people in fashion of all different races and backgrounds, but I will say that I find the fashion industry to be not diverse,” Koop explained during “NYFW The Talks: Passion Meets Purpose Presented by TRESemmé,” a panel discussion during New York Fashion Week over the weekend.

“I find it to be frustrating, and I don’t really want to be a part of it.”

Joined by designer Carly Cushnie, artist and activist Paola Mendoza and moderator and author of “How To Slay” Constance C.R. White, Koop explained that talk of Hollywood inclusion riders really resonated with her.

“That really struck me as a really succinct thing,” she said.
