Oh dear...  I guess we're clear now about whether E-verify checks are performed across Trump's entire domestic portfolio.

Quote
Trump last October listed E-Verify among his immigration priorities and in February, requested $23 million in his 2019 budget proposal to expand the program for mandatory nationwide use. He uses E-Verify at his golf club in North Carolina, where the worker checks are required by state law, as well as other entities in Chicago, Miami and New York, according to an E-Verify database of participating employers.

But it is unclear whether E-Verify checks are performed across Trump's entire domestic portfolio of hotels and golf clubs. Trump Organization and White House officials have not responded to Post inquiries.

What the hell do I speculate on? I am usually the one pouring cold water on fake news/future news articles here because they are fabricated out of erroneous sources and printed in discredited news sources.

Well... you constantly assume and posit that "nobody gives a shit" (your words) about most issues discussed here...lol.   That's speculation.  (you asked)

Rep. Jim Jordan @Jim_Jordan

While the President was giving a great speech in El Paso, Congress was putting together a bad deal on immigration.

How about you stop effing pinging me.  I don't come her to chat with open Communist and trolls.
I'm sorry to say no, when you asked me so nicely @Amb. Frank Cannon  In fact I believe it is proper netiquette to ping someone when you are making them look like a clown.

Both members in my ignore list ping me.  It's easy enough to not click on their posts.

That’s entirely the point. He won’t have the last word, because he takes a hit on the right, either way. There’s no massive support for a shutdown from this Congress. That’s what a veto gets. It’s not the same as December, when a lot of them were out the door, anyway. He’s not getting the full support from McConnell this time around, especially after a bipartisan group worked out this deal.

Signing it draws fire from the base. It’ll only get worse when he pulls this weak executive move, over an actual emergency declaration he’d promised before. I haven’t seen someone neuter themselves like this since Marshall Applewhite and Hale-Bopp.

Let's see. All I read there is a bunch of talking points from a devout rabid Trump hater who is about as worthless an individual in this next election cycle as a PETA representative at a chili cook off. You didn't have any effect in '16 and you won't again in '20. Every day another one of you throws in the towel by either having their publication go out of business (Weakly Substandard) or actually jumping on the Trump Train (Beck, Erickson et al). Now you are relegated to spending 23 hours of your life on this forum trying to convince everyone that Trump is shit. How's that working out for you? I can't think of anyone that is buying your bullshit. Not one. Actually since the election more people have slid over to mild support of the guy. Does that make you a failure? I would say yes.

I don’t need to convince anyone Trump is garbage. He’ll do that all on his own, when he inevitably proves to be the fraud he is and has always been. The economy was pretty good under the 42nd president, who was an equally duplicitous charlatan. Sometimes, the nation does well in spite of who’s in the WH.

Technically, that's correct.  But.... the only reason 'why' the economy did well then was due to the Republican control of both houses of Congress and the Contract with America that was so wildly popular (balancing the budget) with American voters back then.   With the DemocRats in control of either part of Congress.... the economy will become stagnant (again) due to obstructionism and the inability of Trump to get anything that is good for America passed.

After observing Trump in the last two speeches (SOTU and El Paso wall rally).... I am now convinced that he, at least, is sincerely trying to drag us in the right/correct direction....

unlike the azzholes on the left and in the DemocRat-ic Party.

Dead on except you are missing one key detail.....we somehow have ended up with 1970's style GOPers in congress. I am consistently surprised at how weak they are even in power. Just look at who they pick to run them? McConnell? Ryan? The new guy so forgettable I can never remember his name? It's like Bob Michel is still alive and running congress.

Senator Steve King could weld the leader gavel if only 50 other senators besides himself would vote for him.  Unfortunately most the GOP Senate is not insane or senile enough to burn it all down like President Trump.

Phooey on responsible representation. :2barf:

Those things happening are far more likely than Trump going to jail. Avenatti is almost in the clink as we speak....

It's too bad Avenatti doesn't have a slush fund he can divert $130,000 to when he gets in trouble or gets an erection.

That's ok.  Trump forced me out of the GOP after 30 years.  It's not like any of this stuff was real.

The only thing keeping Individual-1 out of a court is the DOJ opinion a president can’t be indicted. Otherwise, he’d have plenty of executive time to spend with Cohen and Manafort.

It's amazing how Trump continues to draw huge and wildly enthusiastic crowds and I know it causes some people and politicians to be jealous.  (Poor Beto tonight)

But that is part of his job as President and leader ... to bring the public around to his plans and he is a master at it.

Once the public is firmly behind him, the fuddy duddies in the Senate will get in line.

Reagan did the same thing.

In a situation like this, what is needed is leadership -- a guy to get people together and hammer out a deal that will work for all.  And if necessary, apply that hammer to a few heads, both in his party and on the opposite side.

Running around the country to preach to the choir does not accomplish anything, other than energize his already adoring fans.  It does nothing to accomplish what he has promised.

Elected officials in DC really don't care what we peons think -- and haven't for a long time.   As president, Trump should have been more engaged in working toward a resolution.  Even if he could not physically be present at the negotiations, he should have stayed in DC and actually worked behind the scenes.  I don't see any evidence that he has.

It's good to see a settlement has been reached and (barring a Trump veto),  the government won't be shut down.

Yeah,  the border barrier funding is still inadequate,  but the absolute last thing we need at this time is a government shutdown that wipes most everything else off the news.

And the news these days is delicious:   Dems self-immolating with radicalism and identity politics come home to roost -  rape,  racism and hypocrisy in Virginia, crazy-ass plans to ban planes, cows and private insurance,  and partying to celebrate new laws allowing infanticide.

Let the Dems have the news cycle, folks, and let Trump keep reinforcing the SOTU's message that he represents the political center.

"He was born poor, died rich, and never hurt anyone along the way"

   - Duke Ellington, upon hearing of the death of Louis Armstrong
