Another quote from the article that is so relevant to a lot of NTers.

"Erick was also, to his great credit, one of the handful of NeverTrump people who actually did what they said they were going to do, that is, look at what Trump did and praise or criticize accordingly. Most NeverTrump people continued a visceral antipathy towards Trump and lacked the intellectual honesty or the character to acknowledge that Trump has done more to advance conservative policy in three years than George W. Bush did in eight."

Amen.  And I love GWB.

I don't disagree with anything in your post @libertybele BUT as in Texas 2016, I wasn't gonna waste an opportunity to shot the bird at the GOP by voting a valid 3rd party since Trump was a given for our 38 EV's.  If Trump needs my vote to beat a dem I will hold my nose and pull the lever for him, otherwise I'll continue to show my disdain for the GOP when allowed.

Trump needs your vote to beat a democrat, so shut up and do it.

There are some of those here.

Most political pundits believe in themselves but I think Erickson was really good in this article, and I think he is representative of a lot of people, those people being the ones who are willing to admit they were wrong which is something some people just can't do.

Erickson paralleled my path from total Ted Cruz advocate to being skeptical, but glad Hillary didn't win, to beginning to actually admire Trump's job as President.

I've voiced the opinion that the same thing is happening in even a body as stuffy as the Senate.  Republican Senators are coming around to Trump.  It's a slow process with that group, but it's happening and it's happening in the country as well.

The differences between the two parties is so subtle that it is a distinction without a difference, one glaring example:

$22T in debt and no end in site to this insane spending.

The debt thing would be even worse with democrats and has our President advocated socialism?  Not as of yesterday.

One is sinister and the other incompetent. In the end, neither gets us where we need to be.

With posts like that, AOC must be the spawn of @DCPatriot . They're both loony tunes.   :rolling:

Directly on point regarding this entire political goulash we find ourselves in. Yes, damn it, kick their socialist asses. That’s the point.

However, politics makes schizophrenics of us all, sometimes. So, we must forgive those closest to us their lapses in judgment. That goes for ourselves, too.

You speak for a lot of folks @Emjay .

It’s been happening across the electorate ever since Trump took office. People have started to trust their own two eyes and not the narratives flowing from the democrats two-year public tantrum over Trump’s election, nor are they believing CNNBCBS’ political attacks disguised as news.

People have been thinking for themselves and deciding they like the resolve they see coming from this president. That’s why his poll numbers have been spiking.

@montanajoe is there anything that President Trump has done that you see as a positive?? Economy, jobs, low unemployment, military at the border, taxes, etc.??  Also, what has Biden done that you see as a positive for this country??

I'm not wanting to be judgemental, I just would really like to know why such disdain for Trump and why the praise for Biden.  Thanks.

I will not lie... in 2016 I would have seriously considered voting for Biden had he been the Democrats' nominee. But then again, there's no guarantee he would've won the nomination. He's a politician's politician, a negotiator. Had he won, with a GOP Congress, I suspect there'd've been a lot of negotiation. I do think sequestration—which he helped negotiate—would've still been in effect.

Trump, on the other hand, has not been quite as bad as the worst-case scenario... yet. He hasn't been the Greatest Prezident EVAH!!!1, but in regard to the threats he has made in regarding some of the totalitarian tactics being used against anyone who speaks ill of him, so far, those seem to be total hot air. He's still a lecherous sleazeball, but then again, so is most of Washington, including Biden.

I live in an area of the country where my vote doesn't count. If Trump wins or loses, it will not be on my account, unless I move somewhere else between now and then. I reserve my right to vote against both the Democrat and the Republican with a third-party candidate if I so choose.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

No matter how much I hated Trump, there is no way in hell I would ever vote for a Democrat.

I'm not aware of any threats that he has made against anyone who speaks ill of him.  Care to expand on that please?

I don't know that the old time Dems are in power now.  Biden might not be the party's choice in 2020.  Seems to me the commie crazies like that Cortez chick are taking over the party.

Too early for me to commit to a vote in 2020, but right now, none of the prospective candidates from either party impresses me.  I don't even see a third party candidate worth voting for.  I may end up breaking my promise to my Dad and actually staying home.

Actually I'm hoping that Trump is unchallenged.  Any challenge from someone like Romney would be a disaster.  I don't think any GOP challenger would win against him, but it would certainly bring out more ugliness within the party, while what the GOP really needs right now is UNITY.
