...The full "Green New Deal" reads a bit like a socialist wish-list, with calls for everything from a nationalized high-speed rail system to an almost complete rebuilding of every structure currently standing in the United States today. Here are some exciting highlights from the extensive plan to reshape the country's energy future.

The full elimination of all fossil fuel consumption, including natural gas, within the next ten years. This includes the full elimination of motor vehicles that operate on fossil fuels, including any vehicle with a combustion engine, be that vehicle a car, truck, boat, or plane. It's not super clear whether Ocasio-Cortez and her cohorts realize that electric cars also run on fossil fuels (the Green New Deal requires all parking lots to have electric vehicle charging stations, regardless)...

She's a nut job and anyone who helped get her elected is equally as nutty. She want to redo all the buildings in the U.S. to make them more energy efficient, do away with all air travel and the way she's going to pay for it is to print more money.

She's a fringed left wing progressive socialist fruitcake who doesn't have a clue as to what she's talking about.  She represents the millennials who have been edumacated in our liberal school system.
"I believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey it laws; to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies." -William Page

Yes, it's nutty and crazy.

But someday in the future, when the democrat-communists gain full power, they're really going to try to DO a lot of this stuff...

I hope it's crazier than Mexico will pay for the wall.  You gotta tweet and say some insane stuff to stay in the headlines.

I remember saying that about Trump.

Yes and look at how wrong you were, just saying.

I don't ever remember Trump bringing up getting rid of the airplanes.  I'm wondering what she plans on doing with the U.S. Air Force??  Nor do I remember Trump bringing out car farts, nor do I ever remember him stating that all we need to do to pay for things is print more money.

Either she truly is stupid or she realizes how dumb a lot of those who would vote for her really are and believe all her insane ideas.

I wasn't wrong about Trump.  I was wrong about Republican voters.  I now understand they are too stupid, evi, and/or easily led to be allowed to make decisions about my country.

could be both.  Some will vote for her despite her flaws just to stop Trump.

No, I didn't vote for Trump in the primaries and would have preferred Cruz.  He didn't get elected.  Trump is who we have to work with as an opposition to the leftists.

Not quite understanding the comment of incoherent -- AOC stated that she wanted to get rid of air travel and that people should travel by train --- I'm merely questioning if she plans on getting rid of the U.S. Air Force.

As for people voting for her to stop Trump...she isn't old enough to run against him.

I merely pointed out her unrealistic socialistic ideas.  Trump may have a propensity for narcissism but he is leading this country in a positive direction.

I did not get that from whatever you meant by Trump getting rid of airplanes.

Firstly, producing an electric vehicle contributes, on average, twice as much to global warming potential and uses double the amount of energy than producing a combustion engine car. This is mainly because of its battery. Battery production uses a lot of energy, from the extraction of raw materials to the electricity consumed in manufacture. The bigger the electric car and its range, the more battery cells are needed to power it, and consequently the more carbon produced.

https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/11/battery-batteries-electric-cars-carbon-sustainable-power-energy/

Amid a rush by some countries to field electric cars and get gas and diesel cars off the road as soon as possible, not enough consideration is given to just how environmentally costly it will be to produce EV batteries for an all-electric future -- or where the electricity to power millions of electric cars will come from.

What's more, early studies of lithium-ion EV battery production are far from encouraging: Researchers are finding that battery production for electric cars ultimately produces more carbon dioxide -- up to 74 percent more -- than an efficient conventional car if those batteries are produced in a factory powered by fossil fuels, Bloomberg reports. As battery production scales up, so will emissions from factories producing the batteries in the first place, factories that themselves are relying on less-than-clean energy to churn out the batteries.

"It will come down to where is the battery made, how is it made and even where do we get our electric power from," Henrik Fisker, CEO of Fisker Inc., told Bloomberg.

One problem with current lithium-ion battery production -- a battery that weighs around 1,000 pounds and is the single most expensive component in an EV -- is that the metals to build the battery are mined in just a handful of countries, using methods that are far from environmentally friendly. Another major problem -- one that is not fully felt with the current number of EVs on the road -- is where the energy to build the batteries and EVs comes from.

The United States, importing Latin Americas violence a thousand migrants at a time.
The lie:

That we need workers and it isn't about cheap labor.  If it wasn't about cheap labor none of those migrants would need the social bennefits they are provided.  They would be able to fully support their own families.

It is about cheap labor that draws wages down for American families.  Its corporate welfare that American taxpayers are shouldered with.  Americans raising migrant families.

Not so.  Obama was the biggest disaster yet.  Hillary would have been an equally, if not even worse, disaster for America and for Americans.  Compared to those two alone.... Trump ain't bad at all.  But your anti-Trump obsession is duly noted....(again and as usual).... happy77

The hypocrisy and stupidity of the left is, as usual, stunning.  In their rage for "clean energy"... they manage to muck things up even more by demanding that consumers use certain products.

Considering how even used car batteries are considered hazardous waste and toxic to landfills.... their push for "electric cars" is absurd when you consider the toxic hazard reality that those batteries present for the environment.  It reminds me of how they pushed the new light bulbs that contain mercury .... supposedly a "green" improvement over the old style bulbs.

Why anyone even listens to these morons on the left boggles the mind.

You all laugh and mock this insanity now, but know this...the current "educational" system is priming the pump for this bullshit to happen in the not so distant future.  Get your $hit together because it's coming.
