Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine Will Sign 'Heartbeat Bill' on Abortion
By Jason Devaney    |

Ohio's new Gov. Mike DeWine, a Republican, is pledging to sign into law a bill that would make abortions illegal once a fetal heartbeat is detected, which can be as early as six weeks into a pregnancy.

DeWine told radio host Hugh Hewitt he would sign the "heartbeat bill," legislation his predecessor John Kasich, also a Republican, vetoed last month before leaving office.

"Yes, absolutely," DeWine said when asked if he will sign the measure.

Remember, Kasich refused to sign, overriding the veto lost by one vote. So, now, in a matter of weeks, the new governor has said he will sign. Good for them!

It will be overturned in a federal court.  Don't even know why we bother anymore.

New Supreme Court and it could get even more conservative. I don't just look at it with pessimism, apparently, there are a lot of other judges in the system than just Kavanaugh on the SCOTUS.  Chance of failing may be better than 50% but chances may be getting slightly better by the day.

BTW, This is why Kasich didn't sign the bill when it was up to him about a month ago. Kasich figured, it'll probably fail anyway and a lot of people really got on Kasich's case,............. Kasich's case!  :silly: I didn't realize how that would come out....

Kasich's Case!    :rolling:
