Joe Digenova, on Fox, just said that Mueller HAD to do this because he knows that Barr would fire his a$$ immediately after being sworn in if Mueller had not made the statement correcting Buzzfeed.  Mueller was just covering his own butt and protecting his phony baloney job.

I watched that too and sure hope Joe is right about Barr...

Well... mega duh.   The prudent thing to do would have been to dial it back on the hate/impeach/nail Trump BS....

and wait for further clarification from their Chief Witch-hunter, der Mueller.   But oh hell no.  Can't have anything prudent or bordering on common sense... much less anything close to REAL journalism now.  Can we.  Must carry on with the fabrications, the lies, the fakery and the propaganda.... at...all...costs.

BuzzFeed says its sources are "standing behind" the bombshell report about the special counsel investigation.

"We're being told to stand our ground. Our reporting is going to be borne out to be accurate, and we're 100% behind it," investigative reporter Anthony Cormier told CNN's Brian Stelter on "Reliable Sources" Sunday.

So... in essence... they're calling Mueller misinformed, at best (lololol).... or at worst...

a liar.

This is getting good.    :2popcorn:

Well....what I think is important to remember is the statement from the SC group said the report was ‘inaccurate’ not ‘false.’ Does that matter? We don’t know. What we do know is Buzzfeed had gone all in on this being true.

What’s kind of interesting, regarding the SC statement is that one of the journalists had sent SC spokesman Carr an email before the story ran, requesting comment. While they didn’t provide a lot of details, they did mention the central point of the article would be that Trump directed Cohen to lie about the Moscow project. He declined to comment. That portion is at the 7:50 mark of the video. One way or another, Buzzfeed or Trump will be called out.

“Anthony [Cormier] and I have a story coming stating that Michael Cohen was directed by President Trump himself to lie to Congress about his negotiations related to the Trump Moscow project,” the email read. “Assume no comment from you but just wanted to check.”

Carr replied, “Thanks, Jason. We’ll decline to comment.”

So how does anything said between Cohen and Trump become anything more than hearsay unless there is an actual recording or some other verifiable documentation?

In this case--he said/he said--isn't proof any court would accept as evidence.

Which begs the question in my mind (and I doubt that I'm alone in wondering)... is this.   Will Cohen's word alone be enough to indict Trump on whatever charge the left will settle on?   I honestly don't see how.   He's an admitted liar, he is still trying to cover his butt and make brownie points with the leftists going after Trump.... which means he will do or say anything right about now.

I have already and previously posed the question or possibility that Cohen has or might have a tape that he is claiming is of Trump directing him to do something illegal.  I also already posed the possibility that a tape like that could be "doctored" or "altered" to say whatever they, the leftists, want it to say.

I don't know.  I guess we'll  just have to let it all play out.   Very interesting times we're living in.   And getting more interesting by the day.

Howie Carr: Even Mueller throwing BuzzFeed under the bus
By Howie Carr
 Boston Herald

Quote
If it weren’t for fake news, the elite mainstream Democrat media wouldn’t have any news at all.

This weekend it’s BuzzFeed, which is apparently on a crusade to become to the internet what the Rolling Stone is to magazines, what “60 Minutes” is to TV news and what The Boston Globe is to newspapers.

In other words, the absolute bottom of the barrel for fake news “bombshells.”

As always, this latest bombshell blew up in their soft, uncalloused hands. In case you missed it, BuzzFeed broke into its usual programming of adorable selfies of Millenial girls with kittens to breathlessly make up, er report, that President Trump had instructed his crooked, prison-bound lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about a legal possible real-estate proposal in Moscow that the POTUS’s son had already testified truthfully about under oath. ...

But the trust-funders’ celebration ended abruptly as the special counsel’s office issued this statement:

“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements … and characterizations of documents and testimony obtained by this office … are not accurate.”

To which the editor of BuzzFeed responded: “We urge the Special Counsel to make clear what he’s disputing.”

Um, re-read what they said, son. Sounds to me like Mueller’s angry Democrats are disputing … everything. ...

The obvious questions about Cohen's credibility are why, in the campaign finance case, SDNY relied on documents, plus information gathered from separate sources, like Allen Weisselberg and David Pecker. In the Buzzfeed story, they contend the evidence was already in the hands of the prosecution, via interviews with other people and communications obtained about the subject. Cohen simply confirmed what the already had, instead of being the primary source.

So it sounds to me like you're convinced that SDNY (or Mueller) actually 'has' a case against Trump.  Right?

If so, what documents do you think they might have?

All of it is hearsay. Even Cohen's confirmation. Unless Cohen taped the actual conversation everything else is crap. Even if they produce, and I mean produce a tape I don't care.

Which means I am giving The President a pass.

Until it's confirmed, of course it's hearsay. Problem is, where credibility is concerned, it's an even money bet between Buzzfeed and Trump.

If the story is confirmed, it will mean Trump suborned perjury and obstructed justice as president as part of an investigation he's repeatedly called a witch hunt. That's an undeniably impeachable offense. Don't believe me? That's fine - just ask his AG nominee.

The AG nominee that happens to be good, long-time friends with Mueller.  How the hell did that happen....

and why?

Because the man who interviewed and appointed him isn't very swift.

“He said, ‘Oh you know Bob Mueller, how well do you know Bob Mueller?'” Barr told the panel.

He replied that the Barrs and the Muellers were good friends and would remain so even after the investigation was completed.

“And he was interested in that, wanted to know what I thought about Mueller’s integrity and so on and so forth. And I said Bob is a straight shooter and should be dealt with as such,” Barr said he told the president.

I believe you. I actually understand it. But, IMO, the investigation has taken too long. Saying they have had too much time to manufacture a case. In other words, I simply don't trust any of them.

Mueller was appointed in May 2017. Cohen testified in August of the same year. So, the offenses, if they're true, happened 3 months into the active investigation. The fact they were pursuing a project would have been politically embarrassing, but not illegal. There was no reason to either commit perjury or suborn it. It either happened or it didn't. If it did, it's completely self inflicted, not manufactured by the prosecution.

Rudy Giuliani, today, Sunday, started backtracking - he now says Trump may have talked to Cohen about his testimony begore Cohen testified.  Giuliani also said, today, Trump may have talked to Russia about building Trump Tower there, until the beginning of November, the month of the election.

It appears to me Giuliani is used to cause confusion so no one knows the truth of anything relating to Trump, to Mueller, to the constitution, to the actual cost of a big Mac.  He yells, talks over the host with words rushing out, says one thing, then the opposite.  I can't believe anything he says as he is off the wall.

He has so disappointed me since he handled 9/11 so well - there he was, doing the right things even though he had to be in grief like we all were.  I remember him with Bush and they were so fine dealing with that tragedy.  I was deep into working with the Texas Republican Party then, going through all this with our elected leaders.  We all know where we were when 9/11 happened.

Now, I don't know who Rudy is.

Here is another backtrack by Rudy - Rudy now says people in Trump's campaign may have colluded with Russia, but Trump didn't.  Before this statement, he said no one in the campaign colluded with Russia.

I wonder sometimes, as well. However, as events have unfolded, you have to consider his client. He has a terrible relationship with the truth. It's not very surprising he's lost other members of his legal team like McGahn, Cobb, and Dowd.
