Maybe in New Jersey, no one can have a carry permit?
Every building in this country should have at least one person legally carrying a weapon.  A building, my house, has numerous weapons from chemical to stun gun to deadly ones, (loaded); this is also Texas where one can open carry.  Note to bad guys: by the time you get my front door open you will go out feet first.

An active shooter situation has been reported at a UPS facility and UPS itself has confirmed the situation…

    ABC 6 – Police have responded to an active shooter situation at a UPS facility in Gloucester County, New Jersey.

    The incident was reported around 9 a.m. Monday on Birchcreek Road in Logan Township.

    Police officers could be seen ducking behind police vehicles outside a loading ramp.

    Multiple police vehicles and officers could be seen on the streets outside the sprawling complex.

    There was no immediate word on injuries.

    In a written statement, UPS said:

    “UPS is working with law enforcement as they respond to an active shooter situation at one of the company’s supply chain processing facilities in Logan Township, New Jersey. We cannot provide information about the identity of people involved at this time.”

UPDATE 2: HOSTAGE SITUATION…

    Per @RickLeventhal : shooting is an ongoing active shooter situation. It is a DOMESTIC and HOSTAGE SITUATION. Shooter is an ex-boyfriend. 2 hostages including the ex-gf. No one has been shot. No victims, yet. UPS facility has been evacuated.

I wonder how he got in.  My son works at the UPS hub in Louisville, and he has to wear an arm band and go through a metal detector to be allowed inside.

That is interesting to know.  UPS has become a target for bad guys - being in their buildings and sending "stuff", such as bombs, through the UPS system.  Remember in Texas, not long ago, bombs were sent through UPS.  Some people died, don't remember how many and people were afraid to open packages coming through the mail.

My understanding is NJ has one of the worst gun laws in the country, it’s virtually impossible now to get a gun permit.

I don’t qualify for a permit. I tried in my twenties but since I have no depth perception I can’t pass. Which I totally understand. I wouldn’t be able to shoot targets very well. I had a very hard time getting my Girl Scout archery badge.
