Sure. Obama, who made something like 2 out of 22 attempts at a lay up. He knows basketball!

The fawning adoration of the empty-suit is ridiculous. His fans think there's nothing he can't do - after he's done nothing except work to destroy the country.
Principles matter. Words matter.

I love the idea.  Verifiable and immediate consequences.  How do you think he would do?

Like being president, I don't think Obama knows his posterior from a gigantic hole in the ground about coaching.
Walton was most likely being facetious.

Good idea for Obama's legacy. Enough said.  888mouth

(BTW, I would also like to see Condi Rice get what she called her "dream job" as NFL Commissioner.  I honestly believe she would do a much better job than the current Commissioner.)

Doc, you or I would do a better job than the current commissioner.

Well, there's that.

My point about Condi Rice is that she is reportedly an over-the-top football fanatic--and very knowledgeable about all aspects of the game--maybe even as much as you and I are.  Condi is also a shrewd, tough diplomat (just as you and I certainly are.....).

Wait, what? Wouldn't you need a 20-minute attention span to coach college basketball? Without a teleprompter he'd lose his toy train of thought the first time a whistle blew.

I'm not a UCLA fan, but there's never been a coach there as good as John Wooden. Wooden won with great players (Alcindor, Walton), but he also won with just very good players (Goodrich, Hazzard, Johnson).
One thing about great coaches their teams always look under control no matter the talent. When Jordan played at N. Carolin it was obvious he could have easily scored 35-40 ppg. But Dean Smith made him play in the system.
Steve Alford's UCLA teams didn't look under control. You lose for one or two seasons at UCLA and you're out of a job. Wooden queered it for the successive coaches.

am all for it.

Surely he could do a better job than as President.

Won't happen, though, as the record will be too clear that he is lousy at more than one thing.

How do you figure.  Obama can't jump. Can't shoot hoops. He can't ride a bike. Can't bowl.  The man is a no star all star.
