A national police group is taking on Suffolk District Attorney-elect Rachael Rollins, saying the radical platform the soon-to-be prosecutor ran on — particularly plans not to prosecute “minor crimes” — breaks ethics laws lawyers are supposed to follow.

The complaint, filed by the nonprofit National Police Association, accuses the incoming DA of violating bar association ethics rules by having “reckless disregard for the laws” of Massachusetts. The group cites Rollins’ platform of generally declining to prosecute shoplifting, drug dealing, trespassing, resisting arrest and making threats.  ...

Derek Peterson, chief financial officer of the police association, added he sees the DA’s no-prosecute policy posing a “risk and danger to law-abiding citizens.”  ...
