I didn't know "conservative" was a political party. I only hear the word conservative to describe a party, usually Republican or Green. Kinda like saying, "What are everyone's names?" and 80% of them answer, "Man" or "Woman". Didn't know.

LOL! Oh hell no. Green party is not conservative. Green party is liberal as the day is long. So are many, many Republicans.

That's why everyone's always saying go green and conserve and hugging trees and crying a river every time a hunter gets shot.

So, conservation and conservativism are unrelated.

Not officially but there's enough of them to split off the Democrats and go their own way, and the ones that publicly describe themselves as Liberal talk about it like it's their party. I always noticed that hey none of the candidates are liberal but the pundits who run the show are. I thought they were a party, as much attention as they receive on that tagword alone.

Makes sense to me. You'd have to be unfamiliar with politics to understand. What you see on a soundbite or on a quick clip on the news would lead you to believe things aren't the way they are. Most normal people (90% of them) aren't immersed in politics and go with what they see on TV.

Thats why I made this poll because in my experience Republicans dont talk so much about Democrats. Politically interested people in my family identified as Republican with one big exception. I wanted to know, who are these people?

No, I had a very leftist uncle that led a double life and when he talked politics it was always "ah the man wants to turn us into a serfdom state. Peace. Lets listen to CCR." Very much the opposite of the rest of us.

Conservatives tend to be true conservationists as well as conservatives...

Most hunters are conservatives, most farmers, ranchers - Most everyone that lives close to the land are conservatives. They are the ones who know how to care for the land, and always have.

Green party is communism by way of controlling access to the land - That is all it is. It is populated by city dwelling bunnyhuggers and granolaheads that don't have a single clue about living on the land. It isn't about conservation. It's about control. the minions within are morons and dreamers.

The principles of Conservatism in the USA sprung from the Conservative wing of the Republican party - Based in Goldwater civil-libertarianism, which is the same thing in Reagan, with the addition of the Christian Right, which was given a seat at the Conservative table by Reagan Conservatism.

While Republicans pay lip service to Conservatism, they do not keep it, or fight for it, which is why most Conservatives now remain outside of the Republican party.

Republican Party does not equal Conservative. Nor does Trump. Or McCain, or Romney, or either of the Bushes.

While Democrats work for their base, Republicans do not.
