Schlapp repeatedly pressed Cuomo to “name the crime” that would be listed on the articles of impeachment for President Donald Trump. “There’s no need for a crime,” Cuomo responded.

I'd rather chew my own arm off.

The people inducted into that ridiculous peeing match are Celebrities, not musicians.

@To-Whose-Benefit?

Correct me if I am wrong,but isn't Link Wray,Steve Winwood,and most Pink Floyd musicians  members?

Granted,actual musicians with actual talent are a minority group at the tourist attraction misnamed as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,but there are some there that are genuine musical giants.

The folks in charge of nominations for the Hall have a blind spot with respect to so-called prog-rock of the seventies.    Jethro Tull's not in the Hall, and neither is King Crimson.  Larry Coryell, I'd think, would be worthy as well.    More generally,  the Hall seems more focused on country, blues and R&B as "roots' music with respect to rock,  ignoring those bands whose sound derives from the traditions of jazz and improvisation.

If that is true,why isn't the Marshall Tucker Band in there?

I don't care if he was from Mars,he deserved to be one of the first.

As for him being an Arab,I'm calling BS on that one. He was an American.

Maybe he's confusing Dick Dale with Casey Kasum. Or Ralph Nader.

I'm pretty in line with every one else...Janet Jackson, for real?

As far as prolific Todd was far more productive. Although I really love John Prine, he really isn't a rocker.

He was and remains an American, with ancestry from Lebanon. Wiki cites middle-eastern aspects of his music.

That period, was long before "Arab" took on any negatives. He lived, surfed, made innovative music in Ornge County California, and was a major force in the "Surf Music" craze. (bumped off the stage by the British Invasion--but not before inspiring the Beach Boys),

Over the years many guitar players cite him, as dtrong influencs.

Sorry...

Avalon is one of the best albums of the 80s.

Avalon is what hooked me on Roxy Music.

I went through a Utopia phase. Still like alot of their stuff. As a musician and producer TR deserves more recognition than he's gotten.

Not everybody in Lebanon was or is an Arab. There were/are many,many Lebanese Christians. Probably a fair amount of non-believers,also. And even IF his family was Arabic,he was born here as an American,and obviously raised as an American.

Yeah,but he wasn't alone. Let's not forget Link Wray.

@EasyAce
I have the 2nd one on CD.
The bands I've been in Played Stormy Monday, T-Bone Shuffle, and  Mean Old World.
Mean Old world was fun, as the solos were in the beginning of the song, before the verses.
He and Charlie Christian both very instrumental (again, no pun intended) on the future of how the guitar is played.

I've done "Stormy Monday" and his much later number "Glamour Girl" myself.

This, however, may be the most unique cover of "Stormy Monday" I've ever heard . . .

Sorry...

(It was recorded live during their appearance at the 1970 Atlanta Pop Festival.)

Janet Jackson?   **nononono*
They always feel the need to put a token person (woman and/or POC) in that isn't rock or roll—see the repeated efforts to force LL Cool J into the Hall.

The one nominee I'm disappointed not making it in was Todd Rundgren, not only as a solo musician but as a major contributor to others' records (e.g. Meat Loaf) as well.
The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend. It may just be that I have two enemies.

Rock critics have always hated prog-rock yet loved punk. To them, virtuosity is pretentious, while bad music made from nothing but pure rage is authentic and laudable.

Ironically, Jethro Tull agreed (Thick as a Brick).

Meanwhile a band like Styx is snubbed.
