President Trump has privately been floating the idea of replacing chief of staff John Kelly with Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), according to Axios.

The news outlet, citing three sources with knowledge of the matter, reported on Sunday that Trump has recently been asking many people about who he should name as his chief of staff when Kelly officially departs.

He's asked many of them what they think of Meadows, a North Carolina congressman who is currently the chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. He's also reportedly mentioned three other people as other possible candidates.

Axios said it did not have information about those possible candidates.

Meadows was rumored as a possible chief of staff contender back in February. Other people on Trump's list of contenders now include Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney.

Washington Post reporter Josh Dawsey tweeted that a White House official with direct knowledge confirmed Axios's report to him.

The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment.

Because we have so many Rs and conservatives in the House now it won't matter if they lose him?

Ayers not taking job as White House chief of staff

Ayers, who has served as Vice President Mike Pence's chief of staff for more than a year, is not taking the position because the President and Ayers could not agree to terms, the official said. Trump pushed Ayers to commit to two years on the job, but he declined. He has young children, he told the President, and wants to move back to his home state of Georgia. He offered to become chief of staff temporarily, but Trump insisted on a two-year commitment.

Maybe Ayers doesn't consider political suicide an attractive option.

But we were told everyone wants to work at the White House.

Wow, there's been quite a revolving door in the White House.  I don't think the next 2 years or 2020 looks very promising.

If I remember correctly, nothing at all like during the 0bama administration.

You are probably correct, I didn't pay a whole of attention to who was coming and going from his administration. I was too busy trying to keep track of all the corruption going on.

Two years in politics is an eternity. If we know what anything, it’s that we have no idea what will happen.

Working for a disloyal, bullying boss for a year is an eternity. Most of us have been there: when things are going good, it's because of the boss' brilliance and great leadership. When things don't go so well, it's because the underlings effed up.

Fortunately, I worked for a sufficient number of great bosses that it made up for the few ascheloches
I encountered.
You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.

Yankees president Randy Levine doesn't plan on being Trump's next chief of staff

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/yankees-president-randy-levine-doesnt-plan-trumps-next-chief-staff-194733059.html

This story tells us two things....

1) Levine was never approached about it.

2) Seeing Levine gives us a pretty good idea what Trump would look like with a perm.
