I've always loved this.

It's a glorious piece of music.
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

Trumps arrive. He did not acknowledge his predecessors as he arrived. Mrs. Trump and President Obama shake hands. Once seated, the Obamas shake hands with him. Clintons, Carters never looked over to acknowledge him.
Jerry Dunleavy @JerryDunleavy
Watch the clip — politeness all around. The Trumps shake hands with the Obamas. Hillary — further down the pew — nods politely at the Trumps and Bill shakes Melania’s hand. Contrary to how it’s being portrayed, this is a display of civility, not rudeness.

And again, Ralph Vaughn Williams' "For All the Saints" as the military pall bearers remove the casket.

Vaughan Williams is one of my very favorite composers.

A true master.

Now the band is playing "Sun of My Soul."

The music has been perfect.

Ok, why is it that these news people sound like they are calling the play-by-play at a football game?

Better to watch it on a station with no commentary at all.  happy77

I usually watch C-SPAN for that reason. No self-important commentary, no commercials.

Fox's after-coverage has been fine, but I agree that C span is the way to watch events.  The people at Fox just talk too much.

It was a very beautiful ceremony. I loved the eulogies and also teared up when the son George Bush gave his. I watched with no commentary. It was perfect and gave the respect and send off a man like president George HW Bush deserved.

Beautiful ceremony; watched from the grandaughters' readings to W's eulogy.  I too watched a channel without commentary.

The Bush family displayed the utmost class and it has been very refreshing not to hear the political jabs, hatred and criticism.  This is the way things should be.

Now that the funeral is over, the MSM is now reporting that Trump didn't acknowledge the Clintons, Michelle didn't offer a handshake, Trump didn't recite the Apostle's Creed, but the Obamas did and on and on and on.

Perhaps the problem these days is we have journalists who aren't truly journalist.  They'd rather gossip then report.

And they’re clearly too stupid to realize that we could actually see what happened and know they are lying.

The story told today about then Vice President Bush weeping when he saw a young boy in Europe suffering from leukemia (Robin died from the disease), reminded me of when, not that many years ago, President Bush shaved his head in solidarity with a young boy here suffering from it.

You never get over the loss of your child, but this was remarkable......

I tuned in a few minutes before the casket was taken out of the Capitol Rotunda. It was about 7:15 my time - 10:15 ET. What did I miss?

BTW, I liked the playing of "Nearer My God To Thee" when the pall bearers were carrying the casket down from the Capitol to the hearse.

Supposedly, when the end of the world is near, CNN will play that before signing off for the last time.
