Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Thursday voiced his support for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in bid to regain her speakership and discussed what the Democrats need to be doing in the next two yearâ€™s of President Donald Trumpâ€™s presidency.

The former chief of staff for former President Barack Obama said the next two years need to be spent setting up for 2020 and â€œdividingâ€ Trump and his Republican base.

I don't think they'll be successful in dividing Trump's base, but they've already been successful in dividing the GOP.

I'm not so sure that Trump will run for re-election anyways.

There could be some truth to what he is saying. Part of the Trump base are working class, white Democrats in places like Wi, Ohio, Pa, and Mich. It wouldnâ€™t take much for them to switch.

The Democrats wonâ€™t do it with identity politics and ANTIFA, of course. And referring to them as deplorables will likely fail, again

I'm not so sure that Trump will run for re-election anyways.

Trump may have to declare martial law to deal with riots and serious insurrections when he orders a plethora of military arrests for sedition and treason or when he finally goes decisively after sanctuary cities (or if and when he challenges some of the 2018 elections?). That being the case, he may very well reassure America that the martial law is strictly temporary by announcing that he will step down in January 2021.

Actually, the currently declared State of National Emergency will expire at the end of 2019.

I'm dead serious. The only question is when the SHTF. Trump may have to wait until he gets Barrett confirmed to the SCOTUS. We've had delay after delay after delay, but I believe it will happen.

Haven't you noticed that we have scores or even hundreds of American Socialists (formerly called hardcore Communists) who have committed capital crimes against our Republic? Trump is going to go after them. It will be the first time ever that a POTUS has dared to do this.
