Merkley is done.  The Senate is quite now.  While we wait for the next speech,  C-Span is playing the Violin Sonata in B-Flat Major by the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchester.

Day Two
And we're back for day two.  What a day that was.   We'll have to check who got the 2,3,4am slots but apparently, Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) got the 5am spot.  Perfect choice -- he's even more effective than NyQuil.

If you want to read through yesterday's post, it's here.   Otherwise, stay tuned.

4:00 PM in D.C. is 2:00 PM in Montana, so when would Daines have to leave to make the vote if he did have to make the vote?

Expect more protests in the Capitol coming up as leftist groups mobilize:

Whether or not the Hart Senate Building is open, we will still meet there at 9:00am today. We will direct you to our training space where there will be a full training and a range of actions for everyone to take. We’re in this until the very end.We have to be.#CancelKavanaugh https://t.co/D9hbJLh9fV

Too bad the Montana senator can't "attend" by video conferencing and cast his vote that way.  Or maybe vote by proxy?

I have no hostility toward him or his daughter.  How the H were they going to know the Dems would muck up the process so badly that the senator has to choose between his duty and attending his daughter's wedding?  Sorry for the predicament he is in.  If that idiot Murkowski hadn't decided to vote Present, maybe his vote wouldn't have been needed.

A message from the president.

Women for Kavanaugh, and many others who support this very good man, are gathering all over Capital Hill in preparation for a 3-5 P.M. VOTE. It is a beautiful thing to see - and they are not paid professional protesters who are handed expensive signs. Big day for America!

Correct, they've been showing the female protesters, "we believe her, we believer her" and two women in hijabs in the crowd. I mean that's fine but they are probably still paid protesters and political operatives.

Yet there will be those on this board who derive a negative.

Perhaps the more magnanimous approach would be to wait for that to happen rather than looking for an excuse to tweak someone’s nose.

I, as only one NT, agree with @endicom post

Excellent advice.

Wouldn't it shock everyone if Trump came out with a concilliatory post vote tweet?

Of coure I don't think even Vegas would establish odds on that.

Yes, it would.  And, would sound very presidential.

The female protestors are batshit insane. One had to be carried away kicking and screaming. Very entertaining.

The many threads prior to this one is enough history to satisfy me that the negatives will come.  To do otherwise is naivete.
