I watched it live.  Cruz pretty well destroyed Beto.  How in the world anyone could vote for that...anti-gun...pro abortion....pro drug....pro single payer healthcare....idiot is beyond belief.  Geez...the guy is a NUT!

In case you missed it.  Senator Cruz did very well.  I thought his slogan for Beto "out of step with Texas" nailed it, then he followed it up with Beto hates cops.  It was a good beginning and Senator Cruz kept aggressively taking it to Beto and didn't let up.  Even if you don't really know the issues, or don't completely agree with Senator Cruz, and impartial observer would say Senator Cruz seemed like he wants it more.

One last petty thing.  Beto said at one point "I could care less" when Senator Cruz pointed out Republicans overwhelmingly supported Civil Rights legislation in 65.  The phrase is "I couldn't care less."

FWIW:  This site has a very unscientific poll on who won the debate:

I say it's unscientific because the poll results showing O'Rourke trouncing Cruz.   No way.  Then I noticed that the poll has no safeguards against duplicate voting.  I voted twice.  I'm sure quite a few O'Rourke fans did too.  Maybe some Russian bot did as well,
