I don't believe ammunition can be purchased here now unless one also has a concealed carry permit.

So... perhaps the ammo here can be "unregistered", but only those who "pre-register" with the State (by obtaining a CCP) can actually -buy- any of it.

This just makes me want to go retire to a cabin in Idaho that much more.  Or just come back to Kentucky when I retire and find a place way up on the Salt river where no one bothers me.

The Revenuers will always find you.  They always do.  It makes you a bigger target to go where "no one bothers you".... especially if you buy or own guns.  They no doubt have teams of investigators tasked with looking for anyone "going Galt" re: their "domestic terrorism" taskforce.  Probably best to hide in plain sight.  (just my 2 cents)
