That's the plan.  My attendance might get a little spotty during the week we move to our new Castle in the next couple months, though.  Don't have internet up there yet.

I can reach out and touch someone from any direction, on the second floor 360 degree deck.  We knew it was perfect for us the second we laid eyes on it.

I thought about gators but I didn't know if they would survive in that desert dry environment. 

I did see several areas to stage the boiling oil pots to repel a frontal manned assault

The whole neighborhood is defensible.  Only two small roads in and out, and all my neighbors fly American Flags, some also the Gadsden.  The Castle itself sits atop a hill with steep embankments on all sides, and a deep arroyo on the back side.  We got a sweet deal.

I never thought we could get one, but @Slip18 discovered this one (she'd been searching Zillow for a couple years).  It's in Bullhead City (across the Colorado River from Laughlin, NV) which is about a 4 1/2 drive from Phoenix.  We've been taking stuff up there every other week, and will be going more often after this week.  Casino Hotels are a lot cheaper during the week.

We get out to Arizona every couple of years at least but Wilcox is about as far West as we generally go.  Who knows?  Might make an exception next time.

Sadly. your answer was not what I hoped it would be. I was hoping  for what you thinkl should have been done, hence my disappointment. Instead it involved "feelings".

IMHO, the local government failed....much like Katrina.

The first responder is the person in the line of fire. It is their responsibility to have supplies for 3 days (or more in this case),

I find it tragic that, much like Katrina, the local officials were inept. During the disaster and before.

If I am in a crunch....I don't want someone who acts like they care.  Just send supplies that I need. That seems to have happened. The break down was at a local level. As I said, Katrina Redux.
