Trump,Putin,and Politics
« on: July 19, 2018, 12:01:03 pm »
There are some ugly truths that need to be mentioned that are normally not discussed about retail politics. The media knows and understands them, but don't care because they exist to stir up people in order to turn a profit.

Problem number 1 is Trump is not a politician. He is a private citizen and a international businessman. As such,he has lived his entire life playing the political "game" under different rules. Some rules are identical, such as describing someone you can't stand but need to temporarily ally with in order to "sell" your product,be it ideological/political or commercial as "My good friend!",while the reality is you would love to set them on fire and then watch them run around the room.

If you are a businessman, you can tell whatever lie you need to tell to "seal the deal" and there are no negative consequences. It's a game everyone plays and everyone understands.

If you are a politician, you play the same game but the rules are different as are the consequences.

As a businessman doing business in Russia,Trump can sit at a table and praise Putin until the cows come home, and nobody cares. It's a major factor in "The art of the deal". Everybody knows everybody is lying, and nobody really cares because this sort of thing is the "grease" needed to ease the movement of the goals of both sides.

The same is true in politics, but in politics you have a leftist press that LIVES to catch a non-leftist businessman, politician,or public figure of some sort in a lie so they can start screaming about it to make an issue so they can keep selling advertising.

ANYBODY that expected Putin and Trump to sit together at the same table at the same time to be interviewed by the public press and then look into the cameras and say something like "I think he is despicable. A liar,a cheat, and a international gangster who brutalizes his own people." isn't smart enough to qualify as an idiot. Press conferences are strictly "kissy-face time" and everybody knows it. ESPECIALLY the press, who choose to ignore this when it comes to a non-leftist politician.

Does ANYONE really expect Trump to sit with Putin at the same table at a press conference held in Russia to discuss meetings they just held and expect to hear Trump say anything BUT positive things about Putin??????

If he did that,EVERYTHING he did accomplish while there would be tossed aside, and we would be in a worse position than we were before the meetings.

Trump is now a international politician learning to play politics at the topmost level, and the press, the left, and the RINO's are having orgasms trying to destroy him and any advances he did make,KNOWING THE WHOLE TIME that their complaints and whining are all bullshit. If it were Bathhouse Barry instead of Trump, the press and the political left would be naming their children after him in orgies of praise.

The only thing different is if it were Bathhouse Barry, the alleged Right in the alleged Republican Party would less viscous because they see Trump as a bigger threat to their power than they do ANY Dim.

Granted, there are a LOT of sheeple that are registered and active alleged Republicans that just "follow the party label with no thinking needed or required" that don't know any better, but there are a HELL of a lot of alleged "conservatives" that DO understand what is happening and are willing to lie about it in order to destroy Trump so their favorite poser candidate can defeat Trump in the primaries of 2020.

And then promptly lose to Bubbette! Clinton or Bernie. That doesn't matter to them, though. What matters is THEIR guy was the name at the top of the losing ticket,so they still have influence to peddle. Influence that Trump will never give them.

Donaldus Minimus ceased to be a private citizen when he stepped into the political arena, ran for and won the presidency, and took the oath of office. As should be known almost equal to his only too well observed predilection for strongmen to whom life depends upon whether or not their actual or assumed opposition happen to catch them on bad days. (Which we may presume to be, often as not, just about every day.)

@sneakypete
I would think you know better than to just throw down the "whine, bitch, whine" bit at an opinion expressed quite calmly but contrary to or at least challenging to your own for no reason better than that it does oppose yours. Manifestly, that kind of throwdown a) exposes you as talking beyond your competence absent a true rebuttal; and, b) hurts you more than it does your opponent.

You used to be smarter than that in the LibertyPost days.

BTW,which loser did you support?
I voted "None of These Candidates" in 2016, there being no candidate who impressed me as anything resembling presidential material, never mind the kind of material that stands foursquare and without compromise for freedom, for individual rights and responsibilities, and for a properly construed government---whose sole legitimate business, other than defending us against enemies (actual and provably iminent) from abroad and predators (real predators, not mere vicemongers) at home, is staying the hell out of your business, my business, everyone's business, until or unless one would obstruct or abrogate another's equivalent rights. (A government which would also, by the way, stand athwart the ever continuing Cult of the Presidency to which Donaldus Minimus's most recalcitrant sycophants [or should that be psychophants, in some cases?] plight their troth as assuredly as did those of His Excellency Al-Hashish Field Marshmallow Dr. Barack Obama Dada, COD, RIP, LSMFT, Would-Have-Been Life President of the Republic Formerly Known as the United States, Presidents Lips I and II, and Droopy Drawers Clinton, to name just four. (Don't bother with, But . . . Hilarious Rodent Clinton! She lost. Get over it.)

Since Nevada doesn't allow a write-in vote, denying me the pleasure of writing in the name Groucho Marx (I'll revisit that anon), but does allow "None of These Candidates," it was the only vote to cast without feeling immediately as though I'd need a complete and possibly extended delousing.

(Why write in Groucho if I had the chance? Easy: 1) He once said, "Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it, misdiagnosing it, and misapplying the wrong solutions." Which showed more political wisdom than anything ejaculated by any of the 2016 presidential candidates. 2) If the dead can still vote in Chicago, the living have the concurrent right to vote for the dead. And the dead can't possibly wreak any mischief, can they?)

Politicians understand and are taught at a young age that there are two ends to speak out of.

Ronald Reagan spoke of an Alimentary Canal.

He was too polite to say that some---whether of the politickers, the chattering classes, or the world of the Internet forums where the indefensible is defended with the same willful ignorance as it is among the politickers and the chattering classes---have their heads so far up their asses they can give you the inside play-by-play of their own root canal procedure.
