A refugee from Ann Arbor?

Nah.  Grew up a Terps fan when they were still in the ACC.  Just knew the maize and blue would tweak them.  Always claimed innocence and said they were Annapolis colors.

Regardless,  what she said still stands IMHO.

Actually, no, it doesn’t.

That's too bad.  I was hoping to ask you what you know about the annual Ann Arbor Hash Bash...

(Full disclosure:  I was born and raised 50 miles west of there.)

Actually, no, it doesn’t.

I'm not at all surprised that YOU say that and I seriously doubt very many others here will be either.

Okay, I was just having a little fun with @edpc but he takes himself so seriously, he couldn't help himself.  It was pretty amusing.

In a former post you bragged about your affiliation with the school.  Now you're downplaying it.  That tells me a lot.

Actually, you accused me of an 'unnatural interest' and I explained how I knew about the Pelloski arrest/dismissal/conviction.  It was pretty big news in town.  Not once did I ever say I was employed by or attended OSU.  Your lack of comprehension tells me more.

Oh, that's rich.  Which one of us posted about soul searching and wondering if the site is good for us, then ran off crying?  Hint - it wasn't me.  Aren't we overdue for another one of your breakdown sabbaticals?

Accusing @edpc  of what you did in an effort to get a rise out of them is not “pretty amusing.” It’s actually pretty shitty. It is highly insulting to the wrongly accused poster, it is horrendously offensive to victims of child pornography, and it makes the forum look petty.

You never understood that I was playing with you.  You took my posts seriously until I explained the game.  It was too late then.

And harking back to ancient history won't help you because you looked like a fool today.

Oh, c'mon.  I never accused him of anything.  I simply suggested that, since he bragged about his affiliation with OSU, he was as culpable at Jim Jordan.  I don't think Jim Jordan did anything wrong.

Anyway, this forum thrives on pettiness ... why are you suddenly having a problem with it?

He never bragged about OSU. He made a statement that many of us Ohioans know about because, here’s a thought, we live here and heard it on the news. You came in with your accusations, which led to @edpc laying out how he specifically knew about the issue.

Uh oh. You tried to insult @edpc and he outsmarted you, so now you’re backtracking and claiming it was all a game. You’re a hot mess.

I appreciate the sentiment @goodwithagun - I’m comfortable with what I said.  Additionally, I stated in another thread on the subject that Jordan shouldn’t be hung out to dry over it.  What has been alleged didn’t involve abuse as the term would have been understood at the time.

This is where I think Jordan may encounter problems, however.  He’s said he had no knowledge of abuse, but that’s a subjective term for that era.  What qualifies as abuse and harassment today is a lot different than 30 years ago.  It would be like throwing Night Train Lane out of the Hall of Fame, because the clothesline tackle is now illegal - but it wasn’t when he played.

It’s not credible he hadn’t heard and/or participated in discussions about this doctor’s proclivities during his time at OSU.  I’m sure that jokes were plentiful, like “don’t drop the soap around Strauss in the shower” or “don’t tell him you have a groin pull.”  Perhaps he has misgivings about not doing more, now, but to say he wasn’t aware of anything at all is just not believable, given the cohesion he’s stated among the team and staff.

THE JIM JORDAN HIT JOB IMPLODES: Ohio State Held Hearing on Reputed Sex Abuser in... 1997
Tweet
By @Brenda06135

I did some research on the story alleging that our warrior patriot, Rep. Jim Jordan was aware that his wrestling team members were being molested and did nothing about it. I'll share that now.

1. You must admit that the timing of this breaking news defies credulity.  ...

6. The university originally said Bricker & Eckler LLP would be in charge of the investigation, but “a legal conflict precluded its involvement.”

Porter Wright was appointed by the Ohio attorney general’s office as legal counsel in the Strauss matter for Ohio State.

7. Wait for it... Porter Wright engaged Perkins Coie to conduct an independent investigation. So far, Perkins Coie has interviewed more than 150 former students and witnesses. What a coincidence!

8. Perkins Coie just happens to be a significant party in the fractious investigation of the origins of the Trump Dossier currently being conducted by Jim Jordan's congressional committee and Mr. Jordan is a key figure in the committees push to obtain full DOJ/FBI disclosure.  ...

11. The athlete, who wants to remain anonymous, said that in the spring of 1997, he was approached by a coach to testify in a hearing against Strauss. Despite not participating, he said he knew of at least three former athletes that attended a hearing. That is VERY significant.  ...

14. You'd never guess what triggered the investigation. OSU said it began the investigative process in late March after a former student -- DiSabato told CNN he talked with university officials that month -- reporting allegations of sexual misconduct.

Ohio State investigates athletes' reports of sexual misconduct by former doctor

A man who wrestled for Ohio State University about 30 years ago says university officials, including an assistant coach who is now a US congressman, knew about allegations of sexual abuse by a doctor…

https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/03/us/ohio-state-sexual-misconduct-investigation/index.html

15. Coincidence? Maybe. But what are the odds that an OSU wrestler just, out of the blue, decided to contact 'CNN', of all possible media outlets, to divulge that he had talked to his alma mater about sexual assaults that occurred 30 years before involving Jim Jordan?

16. The man who triggered the investigation by contacting CNN (who I assume contacted the university about his allegations) is named Mike DiSabato. He's been making the interview rounds. The details change ever so slightly with each different interview.  ...

Who was the pediatric oncologist and does he/she have some connection to the wrestlers?

His name is Dr. Christopher Pelloski.  This occurred in 2013 and he didn't have any connection to the athletic department.  There was an investigation into whether he abused any patients.  None was ever reported by patients or parents.  Given the high profile of that case, locally, they'll want to investigate old claims against Strauss, as well.  Strauss is dead and Pelloski had his license permanently revoked upon sentencing, but I doubt the university wants a reputation of staffing creepy, deviant physicians.

Why not? Creepy deviants are good enough for the football roster.

Aw, come on.   The Schlichter reference was gold.

Arthur Ernest Schlichter (born April 25, 1960) is a former college and professional American football quarterback, known for his four-decade compulsive gambling habit and the legal problems that arose from it. He is currently serving 10 years in federal prison for stealing thousands of dollars in order to fuel his gambling habit.

Yes, I know – by suicide. My point is that it will be somehow tied to his treatment at the university.

That is a weird thing to say.  The doctor obviously had some mental problems.  From what is known about his activities, he didn't actually physically abuse any wrestlers, but just liked to look at them and be a little handsy with the massage thing.

To blame OSU for his suicide is almost as crazy as blaming Jim Jordan for not firing him.

@goodwithagun  You are one weird woman.  This is not the first time you've inserted yourself into a discussion I was having with another poster.  Nothing was said to you or about you.

You were so offensive the first time you attacked me, I put you on ignore but you don't post much so I took you off.

So, back off now or there will be serious consequences. 22222frying pan

Uh oh. Serious consequences.

Interesting you used a frying pan meme, because your accusation is the pot calling the kettle black. Furthermore, this is an online forum on which we interact with each other. Don’t post if you don’t want reactions. That’s how these sites work. Next, Ive never attacked you. We’ve never met. What you mean is I’ve called out your bullshit before. There’s a difference. Finally, don’t pretend that there can be consequences for this back and forth. It makes whatever point you’re (poorly) attempting look positively wacky.
