In 1969 Mark James did a song called "Suspicious Minds", it was picked up by Elvis and he owned it and made it a number one hit. Later it was covered by a few groups... Here is one 80s cover I liked...

Funny that you mentioned the Fats Domino (1961) version...

I looked at the Smiley Lewis 45 that I posted & noticed that Dave Bertholomew was the writer of I Hear You Knocking. Dave Bartholomew co-wrote many of Domino's songs...
