I was a huge Laker fan in the Kareem, then Magic eras. Even some with Kobe & Shaq.

But now pro sports have lost their attraction, as NFL, NBA. They left me.

I fel like they spit into my face, with all of the racial stuff.

I'll keep it simple, the game lost a lot of appeal to me. There were some great teams all around in the old days, despite there also being a number of teams that it would seem to never make it to the championship. Pro-sports has lost a step all around. I like the NCAA March Madness though, I'm sure one can dig around and find scandals with that too.

More directly on topic, I heard about 2 days ago, it looked like he was going to stay in Cleveland... I turn on sports talk sometime. I still get some enjoyment out of that.

Kawahi Leonard (of Spurs Fame) is going there too then, unfortunately no one can beat Kerr's SuperTeam, the Warriors.
It is very sad what the NBA/NFL has devolved into.
I watched the Quicken Loans National today it seems they haven't figured out a way to Fck that up yet with Tiger still struggling after that 9 Iron attack, years back.

I admit to enjoying Tiger's decline, as I will Lebron's. He'll try to run the Lakers the way he did the Cavs and Heat, and it probably won't get them past the first round of the playoffs.

Seriously, who would want to coach that team.  LeBron is for all intents and purposes, going to be the coach.

Exactly. He made his last two "coaches" look like idiots. None of the players paid them any attention. We'll see whether Luke Walton is agreeable to having James run the show.

I'm disappointed he went with the Lakers really. It appears all for money and the Lakers have had their illustrious stars, many. To me, Lebron doesn't fit into that. I mean, he is one of the greatest ever. Make no mistake about that.....it just doesn't feel right.

Agree.

I'll stand alone here perhaps, but LeBron is one of the greatest athletes...... not just basketball players........... in history.   He's in astounding condition, and is a fierce competitor whose body can do things that normal human beings can't do.  And he understands the game of basketball as few others do.

"Coach" or not, he took the Cavs to the playoffs four years in a row, this year almost completely on his own shoulders, and got all the way to the championship series with a team that wouldn't have been close without him.

I'm disappointed that he's done this, but he's an amazing athlete, who, in taking the Cavs to the very top, did more for Cleveland, and the state of Ohio, than anyone in sports has done since Jimmy Brown.

He's going to be missed.

I agree with you guys that the leftist influence in the NBA ruins it.

Would also like to add, OJ Simpson has a much more pleasant personality than Lebron.

Lebron actually would have made more money if he had stayed in Cleveland per the Larry Elder show just now....

Also, I heard some NBA star today, not nearly as well known as Lebron who is getting $110 million over the next 4 years so that's a bit comparable.

Demarcus Cousins (NO Pelicans) just signed with Golden State, this super team $hit is getting out of hand and impossible to beat.

Fox News says that "Magic Johnson's late push" made the difference.  Hope that Lebron doesn't get HIV from it.

The Lakers aren't "The Lakers" anymore.

So, good for LeBron. Hollywood is perfect for the biggest personality in the game today. Look, I know there was some sentimental value to keeping him in Cleveland, but he knew that team was on the downslide. He was very lucky to get as far as he did this year.

I'm not sure the right word is lucky.

He carried a weak team on his shoulders......... and sometimes the opponents who didn't get called for fouling him, even when they tried to drag his body down to the floor.  ^-^

"unfortunately no one can beat Kerr's SuperTeam, the Warriors"

Actually, Houston had them on the ropes until Paul got injured. Not saying the Rockets would have won for sure, but their chances of winning one out of the next two games were pretty good.
If Houston would have beaten the Warriors, I would have watched every second of the finals.  But after the Warriors (who I despise) won, I didn't watch one second of the finals.
I knew Cleveland had a slim chance, and they blew the first game.  Before the series I thought it would either be a sweep or the Cavs might win one game. It was a sweep.
Durant basically ruined the  postseason NBA for several more years. Nothing lasts forever, but his going to the Warriors was bad for the league. It was the biggest chicken move I've ever seen of any athlete in any sport ever. And I'm nearing seventy.

A better move for James to have a chance at winning a title would have been going to an EC team with young studs like Boston, Philly, or even Washington. I don't want him on my Bucks taking play away from Giannis. He'd ruin Giannis.
The Lakers have some good young players, but they're not stars. It will take Ball a few more years to be a star if ever. By that time James will be too old.
He has no chance to win a title in LA.

That's what I heard, Magic Johnson is largely the factor that got LeBron to LA.

We will hold that thought.

It is the Lakers after all.
