While I understand that previous first ladies have voiced their opinion and she is more or less obligated to visit the border. I certainly hope she knows and considers why the U.S. is in the situation in the first place; allowing illegals to break our laws, now border wall and lack of past presidents to allow ICE and border patrol to do their jobs.  Most importantly she needs to focus and consider the U.S. victims that have been maimed, murdered, raped, and kidnapped by illegals.

Ok., she's made her presence known.  She voiced that there is a tragedy at the border.  IMHO, she needs to step back and let the POTUS do his job without her commenting further.  The last thing this country needs is the president and first lady NOT agreeing as to what should be done.  She has no authority to do anything period.

I'm a little conflicted by this show of concern.  If it's "for the children", visit children of citizens separated from their parents ... whether through death, incarceration or abandonment.  Let's help these kids.   And tell Ivanka to bring her checkbook.

The kids that are here, let's hook them up with their parents and send them back.  If their parents are incarcerated, send them back to a family member.  We are not the babysitters of the world.  For those who are coming into this country with their parents, they shouldn't be here in the first place or allowed in.  Immediately deport them; done deal.  No reason to house, feed, clothe, medicate or incarcerate - send them all back.

"Fire at will" is strong and harsh and some me even say irrational, but I feel that those entering the U.S. illegally should be seen as an enemy.  I don't know of any other country that allows people to come over their borders and stay, and additionally give them free medical, food and housing.

This could be a breakthrough.  Good job!  You have acknowledged Ivanka and her liberal leanings.  Yeah she was all twitter about the horrors of separating children too.

If you watch the video the border patrol and law enforcement tell Melania the horrors of illegal border crossings.  They let her know the dangers immigrants put these children through.  We are not the bad people.  I hope she see's the error of liberal thinking.

Amen, I agree.  Did you watch the video's?  Hard to interpret what Melania took from this but the officials did a good job of conveying the truth about the matter.

I am however glad that we are taking care of them at the facility.  I am impressed with the staff of our border patrol.  It should not be a long stay.  They should be returned immediately.  I  also would be fine having armed military on the border to stop them from setting one foot on American soil.

I see no evidence that what Melania did in any way conflicted with her husband's views.  She combined concern for the children with evidence that the children are being treated well.

That is basically Trump's position.  Don't hurt the kiddies but they can't come in.  Sorry about that.
