Fentanyl-Laced Flyers Placed on Texas Police Windshields — One Deputy Exposed

A sergeant in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Houston was treated for exposure to fentanyl after he touched a flyer left on the windshield of his car.

Officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said someone placed flyers on the windshields of patrol cars parked outside the sheriff’s office recruiting center in downtown Houston, the Houston Chronicle reported.

A sheriff’s office sergeant was treated for exposure to the drug which can be fatal, even in small doses, officials stated. The flyers tested positive for the presence of fentanyl.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen someone distributing the flyers or who may have seen them elsewhere to contact police immediately.

Whoever did this...when they are captured...should be charged with attempted murder of a peace officer.

When my husband had cancer, he was given Fentanyl patches by a pain specialist doctor.  Husband said he would sell, on the street, the ones he didn't use.  Pain doctor went ballistic - "No, don't!"  Pain doctor did not have a sense of humor.

Yes, that is attempted murder and IS murder if that guy dies.
This country is sinking into total depravity - killing is considered okay by many people now.  Church attendance is continuing to drop.  I think the killing and church attendance is related.

@Victoria33 the way people rationalize attacking cops is sickening. And at some point Obama needs to be held responsible for inciting the attacks we have going on now.

Fentanyl is no joke. It's a huge part of the ooiod crisis in the area of Kentuckiana I live in.

The stuff is so potent cops have to wear gloves before touching a person they believe has it on them or that has been taking it for fear of absorbing it through their skin and dying from an OD.

Were all the flyers laced, or just the one? Fentanyl isn't cheap. It would be very expensive to lace dozens of flyers with this stuff in such quantity that it would do anything by just touching it. This may have been a targeted attack aimed at this one sergeant.

Husband wore the patches 24/7.  They were sealed like this:  The large patch was sealed all around on the chest skin - the med was in the center of the large patch and couldn't move from the center.  I was told never to touch a patch; husband saw to their disposal in the trash.

The stuff imported from China and smuggled in here from Mexico may not be that expensive.

A fentanyl derivative is what was used in the 2002 Moscow Theater hostage standoff that killed over 100 of the hostages.
