Star and stripes! Michelle Obama steps out in Venice for glamorous lunch meeting sporting pinstripe blazer and wide-leg trousers

Michelle Obama traded workout clothes for a chic suit as she went out to lunch in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The former first lady looked perfectly chic for her business lunch as she dined at the Gjelina restaurant in Venice.

Michelle swapped out her usual jewel tones with a softer palate of pastels for the meeting.

She opted for light green wide-leg trousers and a suit jacket done in matching green and black stripes, topping the look off with a simple white shirt and sandals.

The former first lady also shielded her face with an oversized pair of pastel pink sunglasses and accessorized with a large pair of hoop earrings.

Amazing the difference in tone between this and most arrivals about Melania.  This outfit looks like crap.  Baggy drab and cheap.

That looks less like "perfectly chic" and more like "just woke up and going out to get the paper".

She looks like a cow wearing pajamas-fugly as hell. The reporting reminds me of the insane fawning in the Emperor's New Clothes. Sorry, but we know what we're looking at- a fat slob.
