This week, members of Cajun Navy Relief were in Washington to attend a Rescue Systems training course.

Cajun Navy Relief President, Shawn Boudreaux and three volunteer members, Flint Theriot, Jason Bays, and Tyler Pauley attended the week-long rescue training course in Bremerton, Washington to become certified in introductory rescue skills.

The organization says that the forty-hour course will be beneficial in their efforts to remain prepared for potential hurricanes and natural disasters.

The four members were trained on technical rescue and urban search and rescue techniques, according to a release. The course is designed to provide skills to firefighters, EMS providers, and law enforcement officers who respond to natural disasters.

Photos shared by the organization show members of the team and others participating in the training course and exercises.
