Chief Eddy Clearwater has passed away, as a matter of fact, I did see him perform at what was largely a BBQ place with a nice bar. His big hit at the time, was "Bad Mama Jama".

Quote
Bluesman Eddy Clearwater dies of heart failure at age 83

CHICAGO — Chicago bluesman Eddy Clearwater, lauded for his guitar playing and flamboyant showmanship, has died of heart failure.

Alligator Records announced Clearwater, 83, died Friday in Skokie, Illinois.

Known as "The Chief," Clearwater was born Edward Harrington in Macon, Mississippi. A self-taught guitarist, he began his career in Birmingham, performing with gospel music groups, including the Five Blind Boys of Alabama. After moving to Chicago in 1950, Clearwater drifted into the blues, making a name for himself as Guitar Eddy.

You can find pictures of him in a headdress, I guess he wore that some times. Rest In Peace.

Keeper Of The Castle Lyrics

Live it down, there's a lot of us been pushed around

Red, yellow, black, white and brown with a tear of their own

Oh, can't you see while you're pickin' on society

That the leaves on your family tree are callin' you to come home

You're the keeper of the castle, so be a father to your children

The provider of all their daily needs

Like a sovereign Lord protector be their destiny's director

And they'll do well to follow where you lead

Oh, in your head, you don't believe what the good book said

June 4th, Monday, 2018, in 2 more days, D-day, June 6th. All Music Welcomed!

We will look at a few birthdays.
https://www.onthisday.com/music/birthdays/june/4
http://www.thisdayinmusic.com/born_today

Freddy Fender's birthday, "Borderline", theme from the movie. The border might have been bad back then but it wasn't the war zone apparently it is now. If nothing else, a good song, with Ry Cooder.
! No longer available

A bit more from the Big Screen, Morgana King, I do recognize this scene from the Godfather... that opening...
! No longer available

Charlie Whitney of Family, "Strange Band":
! No longer available

Michelle Phillips, Mamas and Papas, what can one say? "California Dreaming":
! No longer available
"Dedicated To The One I Love":
! No longer available

Anthony Braxton, "Impressions":
! No longer available

Gordon Waller of Scotland, Peter and Gordon, "I Go To Pieces":
! No longer available

Dagmar Krause, German singer, "Song of a German Mother":
! No longer available

Okay, Dagmar is still "pop mainstream", a few times, I go searching for music, accordion music from France or Poland or something, then, I get into some pretty ethnically deep music from those countries (or others). Kind of interesting.

Jimmy McCulloch, Scottish songwriter and guitarist (Wings),  calls for some, "Helen Wheels":
! No longer available   (I've heard a lot of post-Beatles McCartney, especially the Wings stuff because it's sort of like where the Beatles might have gone).

Roger Ball, Average White Band, "Pick Up The Pieces":
! No longer available

Mikey Dread, "Break Down The Walls", reggae:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxlSQRbYobA#

John P. Kee, gospel, "Standing In The Need":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FloREm2rXEY#

Eva Fampas, Greek guitarist,  "Tango #2":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KjpYgNC6Ak#
"Guitar Suite #4, Greek":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtpoZ11zJ9k#

Richard Hawtin, "The Tunnel", looks techno, a lot of diverse music out there.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEpedLxJ4io#
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richie_Hawtin
Canadian, one might not have even heard of him, he's done pretty well for himself.

I'll just post early.

Alan Longmuir of the Bay City Rollers has taken sick in a hospital in Mexico, virus infection, some sort of illness.

PRAY FOR HIM Bay City Rollers legend Alan Longmuir fights for life in Mexican hospital after deadly virus attacked his vital organs on Cancun holiday

He was admitted to Cancun’s Galenia Hospital earlier this week where his worried wife has kept a bedside vigil.

BAY City Rollers legend Alan Longmuir was in a serious condition in a Mexican hospital last night as he battled complications from a virus which attacked his vital organs.

https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/2755183/bay-city-rollers-alan-longmuir-deadly-virus-hospital-mexico/

Last year, he became very ill vacationing in Cuba:
https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/1413886/alan-longmuir-bay-city-roller-sickness-holiday/

I read a book on them, they went from being top of the world to down in the dumps in about 2 or 3 years.

I believe his brother Derek Longmuir the drummer and Alex started the band. A lot of downs with that band. I can enjoy them sometimes.
