President Donald Trump is prepared to demand that the Department of Justice investigate whether the Obama administration surveilled his 2016 presidential campaign for political purposes.

I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes – and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!

Very good tactical and possibly strategic move. Brings all the swirling discussion to a head, and puts it out there on the national stage.

If it pans out, it will completely negate Mueller and the Russia! Russia! Russia! mantra.

Well.... let's see if Trump's "official demands" will now result in Sessions extracting his head.. where he can focus on something other than that eeeevil weed and people that use it.   I have my doubts.

Mr. Trump. Sessions is just going pee his pants and run away. Like he always does. He will likely come up with something like his third cousin on his mother's side was maybe, might be, related to Mueller and therefore he has to recuse himself under his desk for four years. Yea, yea, definitely! Yea, that's the ticket. I'm 'recused'! I don't have to do a damn thing. All I do is show up once in while, and collect a huge government paycheck. From under the desk -- (is it over yet?)

I predict this “investigation” will yield the same results as Trump’s 3M to 5M illegal voter investigation:  nothing.  IMO, this is just another red herring and distraction on the part of the President.  It reminds me of the “secret society” scandal.    *****rollingeyes*****  The concern I have with the President throwing all this unsupported nonsense out there all the time is that if he ever identifies an actual scandal, his voice will be muted:

Oh I don't know:  the Mueller investigation, Stormy Daniels hush money, meetings with Gulf Emissaries, potential violations of the Emoluments Clause..... the list of things to distract from is long.

Those are all the Mueller investigation and Trump's demand is...what?...a distraction from that? Pointing to the investigation is a red herring and a distraction from the investigation?

I'm referring to the idea of an embedded spy "put" into the Trump Campaign by the DOJ to "frame" Donald Trump as referred to in his May 18th tweets.  If that's supported by definitive evidence and is indeed "bigger than Watergate" hopefully it'll be posted here because I sure haven't seen it.

It has already been admitted to by Clapper et al. There was no crime to investigate. There is still no crime committed today.
