Bill Gates discloses in newly revealed footage that President Trump twice asked him to clarify the difference between HIV and Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).

MSNBCâ€™s â€œAll in With Chris Hayesâ€ aired footage Thursday night of the Microsoft founder speaking at a Gates Foundation event, telling the crowd about two meetings he had with Trump, one at Trump Tower during the presidential transition and another at the White House last year.

â€œBoth times he wanted to know if there was a difference between HPV and HIV,â€ Gates said. â€œSo I was able to explain that those were rarely confused with each other.â€

A lot of questions here.

If I had a chance to ask Bill Gates a question, Why the hell would I ask Bill Gates about STDs? How did the subject even come up? That is not something I would commonly chat about.

And, even if this is true, Why would Bill Gates feel the need to discuss his conversation with Trump about STDs. I mean, why would he bring it up? Why did he feel the need to say that?

Very confusing. I expected more from Gates. But, he seems to be just as petty as anyone else.

People exaggerate with stories like this about Trump all the time. I think it makes them feel superior and these stories make them part of 'in crowd'. If we dig down to know the kernel of truth that spawned this tale of stupidity, we would likely discover that Trump asked something like if the transmission of the virus is the same or some such specific question like that. Trump is not stupid. And the people who insist on portraying Trump as an idiot only make themselves look needy and weak.

@240B Good points. What was the reason or basis for the discussion at all? I don't know the difference between those two things either; I mean I know what HIV is, but I never hear of the other H. So many acronyms ... so little time.

Is this important? In any way? And why did Gates choose to bring it up?
