Saw the documentary/concert film "Amazing Grace" this evening, in a theater. It's worth seeing, especially if you're a fan of Black Gospel music.

This one you have to hear to believe: baseball legend Dick Allen, during his otherwise tortuous first tour with the Phillies, had a passion for the doo-wop style of 1950s R&B.

And he cut this record in that style in 1968. Close your eyes, forget that it's a guy who could hit baseballs into orbit, and you might mistake Allen and his group for the Mello-Kings of "Tonight, Tonight" fame . . .

"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Last time I went to Gruene Hall (James McMurtry) with my old lady her and her little sister threw some bi1ch against the wall in the women's room dislodging a sink and flooding the place. They kicked us out.  Long Story short, Chris Knight is playing a sold out show there tonight and I won tickets on the local radio station for knowing who Lynyrd Skynyrd was named after.  Needless to say I gave my tickets to my little brother and his wife since my ol lady's in jail somewhere in Texas.
I'm gonna stay home, get drunk, watch Spurs/Nuggets and aggravate Trumpers on TBR.

Yeah,I think we all have at least one ex that makes us want to scream like a woman and run for our lives everytime she pops into view. I got a little bit of a chill just from writing this.
